Welcome to GateWorld Forum! If this is your first visit, we hope you'll sign up and join our Stargate community. If you have questions, start with the FAQ. We've been going strong since 2004, are we are glad you are here.
I pretty much suck at introductions, but I'll try.
My name's Jayden. I'm originally from Newcastle, UK. I live in Texas right now, but soon moving to Long Island, NY. I love Sci-Fi and Stargate with a passion.
I've lurked around this place for years, but never made the effort to join. I'm not sure why I'm joining now, really. I suppose the cancellation of SGU has caused me to want to hold on to what's left of Stargate with both hands, and what's left of Stargate is the people and the DVDs. The people being the cast, crew, and fans.
So anyway. Thanks for being here, and being the most amazing Stargate site on the web.
Hi there Starfighter Babe.
Welcome to Gateworld...
Have fun... Enjoy the ride...
And watch out for the monkeys...
"What do you mean by 'Oopps'?" Team Starfist protects all. But having a fully loaded P-90 helps... Reality is an illusion... Created by those who cannot handle Stargate...! Jankowski's Rules: Rule 1: Check your Six! I'm not perfect. But parts of me are excellentI also cook...! To thy own self... Be true May the odds.... Be ever in your favour..!
As a wee 13 year old, I went to see the feature film, and I was there when SG1 Started. and...
...I didn't like it
I think after the scope and scale of that feature film, there was no way that those early episodes could capture that. Plus, I maintain that those early stories weren't brilliant.
Fast forward a number of years, and a lot of my Star Trek group are huge fans of SG1 too. My local WSHmith were doing a clearout of their DVD range and I got the first two seasons of SG1. I maintain that the first few episodes weren't great, but the show really hit its stride after I quit watching.
Since the last weekend in Janurary, I've watched all ten seasons of SG1, Atlantis Seasons 1-3 (am about a third of the way through Atlantis S4) and the Ark of Truth. Continuum is waiting in the wings (I'm following the SG1 Running order) and I'll probably wait to see if any retailers do a combined SGU pack or wait a bit longer until there is an offer on them both.
Outside of the viewing, I have been to Chevron 7.6 here in Birmingham and got to meet RDA (even as a relative noob, I know that's rare!) and if anyone here was there, I was the tall yet rotund fellow in combats on Saturday and SG1 Base Uniform on Sunday.
Have fun, Enjoy the threads.
