Greetings.
Long time forum person, but clearly this is my first post here. Glad I found a popular place to shoot the breeze about Stargate.

What I do: Just graduated with my Masters of Science in Education - certified to teach Pre-k - 6...hopefully getting a job soon.
Things I watch on TV: 24 (greatest show in history), Lost, Stargate (all), Futurama (greatest animated show ever)
Things I listen too: Pink Floyd is God. Dave Matthews Band, U2, Zeppelin, David Gray, Counting Crows, but mostly I'm basically a classic rock/oldies kinda guy.
Last song on iTunes: The Beach Boys - Kokomo
Last movie I watched: Garden State

Hello, Cpt Larraq here. I'm also Australian and I have a passionate interest in science-fiction (This currently extends to Stargate SG-1 and Farscape, but the upcoming series of Battlestar Galactica on Channel Ten will probably join that list).

I would have posted here earlier but there were a few hitches that prevented me from activating my account. I look forward to sharing my ideas and opinions on the Stargate universe in general with the rest of you.

Nice to meet you too, Spiko. I have seen and enjoyed the mini-series of Battlestar Galactica which screened here on February 11-12. The actual series will air on Feb 24th.

Greetings, fellow Gaties! (Is that correct? Or what do Stargate fans call themselves?)

I just discovered this thread after making my first post elsewhere. Finally, after watching a recent episode which I found so awesome that I had to go to the internet and see what other people have to say about it, I managed to join this board.

Stargate is one of the two shows (the other is '24') that still justify my TV (well ok, 3 shows, but I tend to talk about SG1 and Atlantis as one). If it weren't for these, I'd have thrown it out the window long ago. I love the mixture of science-fiction and ancient history (especially egyptian) in the atmosphere of the show, and I don't care how inaccurate some stuff is. That, plus the great set of characters make it one of my most favorite TV shows ever. Most of the episodes, I have seen several times I'd say, due to constant reruns on TV here. I would buy the DVDs if they weren't so damn expensive (~90€/season at my local stores). And I know myself, if I had one season, I'd want them all. Probably one day I'll buy some of the early easons plus the eightth.

It's a pity I joined so late, because I'm sure most of the older episodes, about which could talk a lot, already have been discussed to the death. I hope the old threads are still there, so I can read how people reacted when episodes were aired for the first time.

HI Im Metarock Sam and Im a Newbie (Gee this sounds like AA)
Im 15 and i've been a Gater for 11 years since the original movie came out (I was 4 and my Dad took me with him to see it in the cinema)
I have got most seasons of Stargate on DVD except 6 (not too big a fan of season 6) and 7 (I havnt got rond too it.)#
Stargate makes my Tuesdays complete as i watch it on Sky One religioulsy. I shouted at my Dad once becuase he changed the channel but then again it was in the middle of Lost City part 2. I think it rocks and cant wait for season 9 to come along.

Welcome to the Gateworld Forum Metarock Sam. I know what you mean, if anyone so much as speaks during stargate they get banished. I once made my dad pour out his crisps onto a piece of kitchen roll because he was making so much noise with the packet.

Hi,

I've been hanging aroung Gatewolrd for a while, was even here when Gateworld went down. I would keep trying to load the web site every hour to see if it was back up.

When Stargate first came out my first thought was “not another TV show from a movie”. I like Stargate the movie, but didn't think a show based on the movie would be any good, so if I was home and had nothing to do I would watch just to see what it was like. I saw “The Enemy Within” and it didn't grab me. I watch a few epps, but didn't care about Stargate until season 3, from that point on I was hooked. I've now got the first 7 seasons of SG1 box set DVD's.

I'm not a shipper and not anti-shipper either!
