Problems with a GateWorld Ad? - Provide Ad DETAILS

For better or worse, this time of year, scary and horror movies are the big thing to advertise. Given that halloween is in a couple of days, things should calm down by then.

Darren is communicating with the ad company but.....well they're the ones dishing out this stuff so if you want to direct your ire and frustration, try there.

Okay. I've had it with this AD!!!!!!!! It will not let me go to my personal messages. I've refreshed until I'm so frelled off I want to scream and it won't go away!!!!!

The code he needs to have that ad removed by the suppliers is in this post,so I've sent it across.

Can you let me know how you got rid of it. It is totally blocking me from Gateworld on one of my computers. I've tried a few things to get rid of it but it doesn't go away and it blocks access to Gateworld. I am on a different computer and it just popped up on that one but isn't blocking me on that one.

Sometimes if I go out and come back in, it goes away. Also, I refresh the page. Sometimes I have to do it several times.

if gate world did this as some sort of Halloween prank, this is going to hurt gate world badly, it might just drive a lot of us away to other boards, and that would cost ALOT in ad revenue. , I HOPE I am wrong about this.

after I play this game for about an hour, for some reason, I can access gate world, but it only lasts for a short time, why, I don't know, all I know it that it seems to work.

Can we PLEASE get rid of the Exorcism ad?? It is the ONLY ad and it plays non stop. It's offensive and disgusting and makes me want to never come back here. I find it hard to believe you can't find other advertising options that wouldn't be so literally horrific. Come on Gate world!

one thing they might try to do is contact the company who commissioned the advert and inform them as to what is going on, this might help, the company might not know what is going on, and mention how doing something like this will drive potential customers AWAY from their site and company.

it is still hanging around, I am still having problems, the only way I seem to be able to access the pages is to use the back button, that is if I can get to the page I want at all.

Every time I click to go anywhere, over the last two days, I get this ad. It redirects from the actual page (even though it says the actual URL), to this ad. I can click back and I'll be on the page I wanted. But it constantly redirects. So far, this is the only ad I've seen do this.

Just wanted to add that I had this exact issue all day today too. Couldn't even get to this page to report the issue until now. Same exact add when I was encountering the problem. I noticed now that there is a different add, which is probably why I was able to get through this time.

that was happening to me too, but it didn't matter where I went, it just came up, that screen grab was exactly what I was getting, I tried to go around it, and click through it, but it just wouldn't go away, so I closed the gate world page for about an hour and did something else, then tried again, and it seems to have gone away , as you can see, but there is no way of telling as to when it will come back, best guess, there is something wrong with the adds coding, or something, because I don't think ad ware wants to have their company name related with doing something like this on purpose.
