we're discussing options for the thread since so many find the 'no speculation' part of the title to be so difficult to understand.

A new news thread has been started in the News folder. News postings can be there, discussion can be in the Universe folder. Hopefully by separating the threads in different folders people won't find it so confusing.

Can you actually MOVE THE FOLDER CONTENT (SGU News) instead of having to start a new one? Makes no sense otherwise. I know it's not difficult as folders get moved a lot on this board.

to do that we'd have to spend a few hours searching through and culling out all the off topic stuff. and it's just not something that we have the time to do at this point in time.

Since that thread is such a muddled mess, it can just start over fresh and hopefully won't have the issues of the other one

We do not delete accounts, since it would cause problems with every thread that the poster using the account had ever posted in.

If you particularly want to leave GW, you can do that without deleting your account. If you don't want the temptation to come here, change your password to an unmemorable random combination and then log out.

to really lock yourself out (since you can get password reminders) to add to what mads said

change your e-mail, change your password (in the same session) log out and the account is locked.
