    Very sad, but I think the most shocking thing to me is that he wasn't older. I guess he is just one of those people whom always looked older than they were. I know many remember him from Seinfeld, but he will forever be burned into my memory as John from V (1983). That was my first true Science Fiction show as a kid. I'd seen other shows, but that was the first one I planned to see every time it came on.

    Just rewatched the Voyager episode "Pathfinder," partly because of Herd's passing and also because it's one of my favorite Voyager episodes.
