question about post icons

why aren't there any laughing post icons, you have the talking one, with the huge smile, but it doesn't really convey laughing, we need a laughing icon, I know there is the laughing jack head, personally I find that one kind of creepy, but that one is only available in replies, or message posts, no laughing icons for original posts, you have thumbs up and the tv set, and the broken heart... ect, but no laughing icon, so why? creepy

Do you mean the smilies (emoticons) in posts etc or do you mean the ones that we can post in thread titles?

All the ones used by GateWorld (as in officially available on our control choices) were made years ago by Wallpaperman of The Scifi World.
Since then,Darren sent several requests out to Members here to send in their own versions of the forum smilies based on Gilles' template but that led to nothing usable.
We have some Smilie threads here where Nola and others uploaded their own smilies but thanks to hosting sites going away or restricting usage and cross-posting to those willing to pay ,almost all of those smilies are gone.

Even if you find some in the threads they mostly have a bar through the middle of the images so that renders them pretty much useless,unless anyone stored some of the ones that no longer show up.

There's this LOL smilie in the menu: or you can upload and use the ones from independent smilie sites.

the ones used in thread titles. the ones that are there are fine, and I can use the planet smiles ones in the posts as well as the ones in the list that you mentioned, I just thought that there should be one of funny stuff for the thread titles, not really a big deal either way, just thought it would be an interesting addition to the collection is all .
