I've been thinking about this episode. Chuck was incredulous when he realized Sam still thought he was the "hero" of the story.
Who does Chuck think is the hero? Him? What is he fighting against? What is it his journey is about? What obstacle is he meant to overcome? What lesson is he to learn in order to be better?
I'm also not convinced we can trust Chuck's little device to show Sam the future if Chuck is locked away. I mean, for all we know, he's looking at another reality.
