So this seems like more evidence that there is no possible way to harmonize the show with the MCU, because if Sarge exists because the monoliths exploded and created another Coulson on another planet back in an earlier time in the past, it shouldn't have affected the timeline the rest of the Agents are in. So presumably either time travel works differently than it does in the movies, or we're actually watching a different set of characters than we were watching at the end of last season.
