EVA giant Star Gate build for ThunderCon 2018 Ontario

ThunderCon, Thunder Bay Ontario is a great little convention. I have been a special guest there for three years now. This year I was asked if I could build something special for the convention.
    A giant Star Gate.
Which was used on stage for the opening ceremonies and then moved for photo ops and then put back on stage for a Star Gate panel with Gary Jones and Paul McGillion hosted by Mindy Sterling (Austin Powers fame).
Any way here are some picture of the build and from the convention this past weekend enjoy.

    Dude, nice built!

EVA to build a gate... ...should have thought of that when we build ours in MDF. So much lighter than ours (though also a little smaller in size -- ours is a little bigger).

I can understand the logistics in getting the thing to stand up, but I am a little disappointed it is not a full gate (ie totally round). It would have looked better and been more realistic. http://www.cheesebuerger.net/images/more/bigs/a090.gif

Ours is completely round, but the bottom part is hidden by the stairs we built in front (also serves as the box to store it in).

Tip: we printed a large canvas with the open wormhole to put behind our gate. If you want some extra coolness, I think that would be totally awesome to attach to the back of it.

I do ... somewhere... but I'll have to dig it out when I get home tonight cause I'm at work now.
