    "Roseanne" reboot

I never watched this show on its first go-round, Roseanne presence is just too grating on me, like nails on a chalkboard grating.

But I've watched the 1st three eps of the reboot, and I rather like the social / political commentary in the show. Enough to put up with the nails on the chalkboard, which is still as strong as ever. At least so far. Hopefully it keeps it up.

    It's not a reboot

Jelgate is right...it is a continuation of the original series. Never watched it the first time...and have no desire to watch it this time. Plus, I have too many things recording in a daily basis as it is.

Possibly...just don't care for the show's low brow humor. Additionally, Roseanne Barr has spent recent years promoting a messy brand of politics, propagating transphobic and Islamophobic rhetoric on Twitter and fully embracing Donald Trump's MAGA message while promoting right-wing conspiracy theories (like someone else we know). It's a confusing devolution into a radical lunatic...something closer to Alex Jones than the socialist, pro-union, and anti-one percent character she played in the '90s.

So, she has grown wiser as she has grown older.

So, you include the actor's political views in a decision about whether to watch or not. Try doing that from my side of the fence. With Hollywood's extreme left bias, I could count the shows I watch on one hand.

I don't support people who are idgits. I've never liked Barr (much like I've never liked Mango Mussolini), even when her views were different. To me, she's too trashy. I never watched the show in the 90s...I sure as heck am not going to watch it now.

                      Well, this didn't last long.

                      http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment...ist-tweet.html

Just hours after Roseanne Barr posted a racist tweet about former President Obama aide Valerie Jarrett, her wildly popular reboot of "Roseanne" was given the boot.

ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said in a statement on Tuesday that the network would not be producing the show's second season.

"Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show," Dungey told Fox News.

A rep for Barr did not return Fox News' request for comment.

The news comes after Barr went into emergency damage-control mode after sending out a politically charged tweet linking Chelsea Clinton to liberal donor George Soros and a racially charged tweet saying former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett, who is African-American and born in Iran, is like the "muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby."
That was over the line by a mile or two.. ABC didn't have a choice.

Praise the Lord. ABC Entertainment has some brains and cancelled Roseanne's show!

I wonder if she will find another network to host it?

I doubt it. For a start members of the cast and crew quit over it too as they didn't want to be associated with it.

This is not the same thing as Tim Allen and his show. While he has made jokes about Obama and Democrats, I can't recall it being personal let alone racist. It was about policy which comedians mock all the time. That is where Roseanne went too far
