    Well... Our mind can hardly imagine and accept a non-humanoid form. Imagine a race which hasn't got eyes, so what body part would you look at? It is a bit boring that every scifi suggest that we are the most idealistic form of evolution according to Earth ecosystem. But what if other body parts, other skills developed under different environments? Even some animals have got such skills (like poisons, webs, immunity, different skin types, blood cells) what humans haven't got and if they could have been isolated from the rivalry of evolution then maybe they could have turned into an intelligent lifeform. For example imagine a world with spiders or only dolphins. If there wouldn't be predators then they could also evolve into a civilization and later into space civilization. So we have to think a bit wider and to imagine the unimaginable.

    I know this SG world is just a tv show and they could never afford such abstract races which are in my mind. The whole show focused mainly on humans, escpecially on Earth based heroes. The viewers could mostly connect emotionally to their own kind, so a random 4 eyed 6 legged alien would not be interesting for them. The Air Force also promotes the US army, so if it would be a random human civilization from an other planet, maybe it wouldn't be that interesting. But BSG is a good example that you can make a story interesting without aliens, if it tells moral questions about humanity.

    The future of the SG world can be answered only be the writers. I am just a fan and I just wanted to share a few ideas here. I can assume if the galaxy is full of human worlds, then soon it or later they will be targets of aliens who would try to contact / conquer / modify them. We don't know where the future of the SG world is aheading. Since they cancelled the SG:U, I would like to believe that Earth is saving the galaxy a few more times and we have established a nice diplomatic alliance with everyone who would like to join. The writers raised the level of villains and even our own technological skills in the last few seasons so they must find a really good scenario and event where the adventures could continue... Hopefully they will return to the more active use of gate system and they don't want to change SG into SW or ST. I like ships and big space battles, but I prefer gate related adventures. So that is the reason I tried to brainstorm a few new technological upgrades. I strongly believe the gate system is the essence of Stargate and there are so many things what they could still show us.

    "Good things come to those who wait." - Teal'c in Unending

    Somebody asked on SG:C. Question for fellow fans: What makes Stargate special to youl?

    Well... A little mental hideout from the harsh reality of life. Fun, adventure, exploration, mythology. Talking about a possible past and future of humanity. I have meet so many different fans in the last 20 years and some of them became reallyy true friends. And they are the biggest gift of my life and I can thank it for the Stargate franchise.

      Seems weird aliens (humanoid or not) and cool spaceships are more likely in Star Trek or Star Wars. Stargate has other virtues, like stepping into the fray.

      Let's hope the new series becomes real and based on some cool (not too dark) premise. Say, alien would-be-conquerors from another galaxy fire a super-weapon that cripples FTL travel and also distorts to some extent Gate travel (these effects are eventually fixed). P-}

      But we can also guess, it's part of the game. That's what I did for my fanfic on the CMBR signal, following all the hints to their most logical conclusion.

        I have been on holiday in Valencia. I was still brainstorming, so here are a few more random ideas, hopefully you will enjoy it:

        A few Goa'uld rings related upgrade:
        1. I always wanted to see a Stonehenge type building in Stargate shows. Maybe it is a bit weird idea, but I could imagine it as alien construction. There would be an inner ring and outer ring (where the coloumns stands) which could rotate around like a clock. If the user setup the right combination then there would be an activated Goa'uld transport ring (or Stargate) in the centre what could be used for any reason what the writers imagine. Maybe teleportation between other similar buildings on other planets etc. Even a megalithic culture related alien race could be introduced too. Crystal skull aliens could have moved the heavy stone monolith etc.
        http://stargate.wikia.com/wiki/Omeyocan

        2. We talked about the opportunity what if we could beam teams, units, vehicles through the activated wormhole. What if there would be a new technology to reach the Goa'uld transport rings on the other side? This step also could be a game changer, because what if the Trust / enemies try to connect to such ring transports which were left on Earth? So even if the Iris would be closed, maybe the Op-Core (the replacement organization of NID in Stargate : Worlds) would be able to send units home or out? The only problem would be that it means they need an agent in SGC to open the wormhole or they have to find a tech to open it from a distance. Since we haven't got a DHD it could be explained.

        3. Or the Ashen would upgrade the transport rings, so they could "dial" individual transport rings within a planet. So instead of building a local stargate network (theoratically nobody was capable of such things just the Ancients), they could study the rings and how to build their own network with it.

        4. Or Imagine what would happen if you could use these rings to reach the other side of your planet. It would really accelarate trade and politics etc.

        5. Or the Goa'uld rings could be modified that instead of the inner volume, rather the surrounding outer space could be teleported. So imagine you would have a ship (like a tel'tac), then the same ship could teleport to the next empty clearance. And this could be even combined with Stargate! So they would dial in, then connect to a ring transport, then "rebuild" a building around it. The only main disadvantage of this idea that what would happen if there is no "empty scape" around the transport ring. I still have think about this.

        6. Or there would be a race which would teleport their whole planet through the stargate. This idea would work with space gates (probably in Pegasus galaxy), but what if they could move their whole planet to a different solar system? I know it is a bit hard to accept, but such solar system creating races should exist somewhere in the universe.

        - - -

        7. I was still thinking on the underwater race what I envisioned before:
        - they worship geysirs on mainlainds when they use stargates to visit other worlds
        - the puddle of stargate would be a religious, holly "lake" for them - and the vortex on the other side of the wormhole
        - some colony could be places under the frozen oceans of moons / ice planets, so the ice shield is the reason why other races could not attack them from space
        - or they would place their stargates near underwater volcanes / heat source, so if they want to protect themselves, then they extend the forcefield around the stargate, so the hot gases would attack the intruders
        - they are photosensitive as they mostly live underwater
        - they could communicate with bubbles which are flying up (or if they could modify the water around themselves then even bubbles could moved to form signs / characters)
        - if they show their body then it could be seen as transparent like a living lake (fishes would swim in it, or waterlilys as hairstyle etc.)
        - every day they have to return to the waters or they will die (like a space mermaid)
        - Omoroca is not dead - she or her descendants is/are still on Earth, but in a secreat oasis in the middle of Saharah - they couldn't walk back to the seas, so they were stuck there after the battle while their lake was shrinking into a small oasis
        - the battle between Omoroca and Belos could be a reason why the Saharah started to spread rapidly and why they want to punish us for our crimes against nature

        8. The Gadmeers could help to find a planet from where the Destiny could be dialed. They studied thousand of planets! If I remember well they also escaped from their homeworld 10000 years ago. So what if they came from the Pegasus galaxy? Where they attacked by Wraith or such groups of Ancients who were strongly xenophobic? That is the reason I said they should talk about the Ancients too, because it could be interesting to hear about their reasons why the gate system was created, why have they chosen Earth (and the humans) to spread, or what happened with such races who opposed them.

        Gadmeer technology could be used to visit such worlds which hasn't got a breathable atmosphere.

        9. It would be nice to hear how long have the Ancients were involved on Earth. Just before the Goa'uld era or after it as well? If the Romans learned Latin from them, then some of them must have educated the local people. Even Kheb has got some oriental philosophy, so maybe Oma Desala hinted a few things in the Far East as well.

        10. I always wanted to see a crystal type alien form. What if the planet on Cold Lazarus was just an outpost? It would be nice to see a completly crystal / marble type world. Where aliens can not walk , so they can't escape, but they could still establish a civilization. They could be like a cactus type of race which has got roots underground, so instead of "walking" they could rebuild themselves somewhere else. Or they could communicate with each other etc. So it wouldn't be impossible to introduce such a race with creativity. Then they could talk about the crime of the Goa'ulds / Humans / Ancients / Tok'Ra who hunted them down for building space ships based on different chrystals etc. But once we could gain their loyality this race could be an unique geologist expert what could help the forging alliances etc.
        http://stargate.wikia.com/wiki/Unity

        Anyway that is enough for today. I wish something similar could be seen in a new SG show, but writers are not really allowed to accept ideas or to read fan fictions. I should rather really focus on my own scifi world.

        I have found a few new names of known SG races:

          Valencia, the Spring-bonfire city? Bet you could place a working Stargate there and nobody would notice an army of alien invaders. P-}

          It wouldn't be the 1st time Stonehenge did weird things. Triggering Transport Rings, Asgard Beams, or a full Stargate could be a cool trick, on Earth or some other planet.

          I'm not so sure about Transport Beams working thru a closed Iris, but would definitely love to see the Aschen playing with advanced Tech.

          Gating things bigger than the Ring itself shouldn't be easy nor cheap, but could be a handy one-off trick for very advanced races. I've toyed with the concept too. I guess the hardest part would be the disassembly and reassembly of such large objects.

          More underwater aliens, please! Perhaps including those from The Abyss?

          I have a reasonable guess about when and why the Ancients invented Gate travel. Gate Networks probably were a welcome natural development, afterwards.

          I hereby donate, free of charge, any cool idea of mine to the Writers Room of any future SG series or movie. Take my fanfiction and run!

            Oh yes, Valencia is a crazy town. I have arrived a week earlier before the "Las Fallas" celebration and the whole city was a madhouse. Here you can find some ... okay... a few thousand photos about earlier holidays:
            https://plus.google.com/+Platschu

            Back to our ideas. I am afrain the TPTB are not allowed to read forums or fan fictions. Even if these don't count as "fan fictions", I doubt that they would ever read this thread. I wish my DHD living AI (later revealed space Jinn) idea would be part of the 4th series...

            * * *

            I have just rewatched the 9x06 Beachhead. That clearly shows that beaming with Goa'uld rings through the stargate is possible. In that particular episode Vala wanted to escape back to Prometheus with the ring transport, but the singularity collapsed around the Kallana, so the energy transfer went through the incoming active wormhole to an other galaxy! I have completly forgotten that this is a proof that even Brad Wright had the same idea with transport rings even if this an extreme circumstance.

            * * *

            Stonehenge idea : something similar was showed in season 6 opener, when Anubis attacked Earth. Just it would be nice to work megalithic cultures what if those ones were based some alien influence on Earth? Or these "golem" type aliens could still live somewhere in the galaxy... But I don't want to copy the Trolls from Disney's Frozen.

            * * *

            Underwater aliens... Well... There could be even different races with different motives. Or different folks of the same race. You know once like dark closed worlds under the ice, while others like the tropical sea planets, the third one which likes wondering to the mainlands, the fourth one maybe like the swamps with rotten leafs etc. There would be so much fun to introduce a proper water race. One of them could still activaley interfere other worlds (tsunamis, floods), while other would just simply freeze everyone. Or they could go for daily mission in "water suits" and that is how the heroes would contact them. Or even the weather changing devices could influence their culture etc. Or they could sit on giants sea horses like a classis Ariel type mermaid. I always wanted to see manta rays type aliens flying through the stargate without water into the SGC. If they could film them in a tank, maybe they could be added digitally easily. (By the way once I asked Joe Mallozzi why could they not make a scene with a camel is going through the gate, but he said it needs lots of authorization of using animals on the show. Probably the PETA / Green Peace would watch them nonstoply.)

            Not to mention there are such real life sea animals which could be digitally scanned to have an "alien" on the show. Here are some examples that even our nature can create such races which looks like aliens:

            Like these sea dragons:
            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_seadragon
            https://ih1.redbubble.net/image.1340...x800,070,f.jpg
            https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...eniolatus1.jpg
            https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...yllopteryx.jpg

            Blue dragon:
            https://steemit.com/animals/@rocking...ien-from-earth
            https://hybridtechcar.com//wp-conten...original38.jpg

            Not to mention these guys :
            http://www.storytrender.com/12102/st...es-look-world/
            http://www.clearlifestyles.com/wow-2...ike-pokemon/5/
            https://hybridtechcar.com/sea-creatu...liens-planets/

            Or if they could visit exotic alien worlds there are so many crystals, marples, mushrooms which could be inspiration to odd looking alien worlds. JM also said that it is not a lack of imagination that they can not find out new aliens with weird looking for the Stargate : Universe show... It is rather a budget question.

            * * *

            I could imagine a character who would be like a Steve Irvine / David Attenborough / Bear Gryllys / Dian Fossey type character who whould visit alien worlds to study the local floras and faunas. Maybe he/she would be a writer who would film some documentary movies or reality show. Then somehow he/she became the centre of the adventures as one of the main heroes. Maybe he/she could be a teacher on the Academy, while occasionally he/she would bring her "class" to study different ecosystems. And while he/she is an adventurer in nature, he/she would be a bit lost in the modern civilization etc.

            * * *

            I have also rewatched 9x18 Arthur's mantle which is connected to 3x21 Chrystal Skull. So other dimensions exist. What if Merlin / other ancients really have hidden some stargates or complete worlds? Or what if a special planet / DHD / gate would allow to open a wormhole there? Even an invasion could start from there, so they could bring back the bugs from season 6, or the Nox, the Rhee'tou or the Daedalus Variation aliens etc. There would be so much options for writers.

            * * *

            Ori wise I wish they could have introduced the "phoenix" as an alien race. It would have been cool to see these mythological "birds" on the show as they are related to fire and rebirth. They could be like an elit class warriors who could "ascend" then descend part of their life cycle. They could still rule the Ori galaxy now as the masters (the Ori) have died. But SG will never return to that distant galaxy probably. But what if they were sent into the MW system? Or they could be introduced as an MW race (like a humanoid with bird heads).

            * * *

            Have you ever heard from the Naica cave in Mexico?
            http://www.luvthat.com/wp-content/up...hua_Mexico.jpg

            Or the Wave in Arizona, USA?
            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wave,_Arizona

            Or the Glowworm cave in New Zealand?
            http://www.rumblerum.com/glowworm-cave-new-zealand/

            Or Hang Son Doong cave in Vietnam?
            http://www.atchuup.com/son-doong/

            or the Dallol Vulcano in Ethiopia?
            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dallol_(volcano)
            https://steemit.com/photography/@car...rt-in-ethiopia

            or the Danxia Mountains in Zhangye, China?
            http://www.awakeningstate.com/nature...hangye-danxia/

            So such places are the inspirations for me to imagine "wild" alien planets. Okay, they can never afford to shoot some scenes there (Naica would be too hot anyway), but maybe they could use them as digital backgrounds. You know I would be happy with a stargate on the savannah with some real / digital baobabs or acacia trees or dragon trees. There are such rare plants on Socotra as well which could be used as inspiration or digital background in the future. Just they should forget the pine trees!

              Well, TPTB greenlighted "Stargate: Origins", and the "Back to Destiny" comics, which many regard as little more than fan-fiction. So there's hope!

              Fascinating as all these sea dragons are, I'm guessing there's little room for non-human/humanoid races in StarGate's Milky Way, if only because none of the more frequent races seem to know them. Which is a huge pity.

              I've also often wondered where are all the non-forest planets out there, and also why so few races bother to shelter their Gates inside big caves, much as Earth does. Perhaps not a Glowworm cave, as there could easily be Goa'uld "worms" in there, but Naica would be a treat. I've toyed with that idea a bit, too.

              Bear Gryllys around the Galaxy? That'd be so much fun! Even just Abydos... Not for the faint of heart, tho. I'd settle with Jaffa trainees undergoing survival trials on exotic locales.

              "Phoenix" could actually be a Goa'uld, whose host can be killed, but who manages to "return" into another host, much like Ba'al does.

              I see this thread gathering plenty of "views". Others are reading & probably enjoying! P-}

                Well... It depends how you introduce alien races. Obviously the viewers would accept humanoid aliens, so my wild non-humanoid aliens would never step forward because an SG show won't have the budget for it. Maybe they can do it in an SG game or in an other galaxy.

                But alien races could be still introduced, because humans are a bit boring for me. I have given plenty of ideas how to do it:
                - they are left out of the gate network to preserve their evolution
                - they have special needs why they can not leave their homeplanet easily
                - their stargate is shielded or separated (like in transphase gate, other dimensions)
                - maybe the Ancients locked them as they were worried they can harm humans
                - maybe the fought against the Ancients as they were xenophobic and they wanted to erase them
                etc.

                But probably every official or fan fiction writers should consider :
                - where this race has been
                - how many gate address do they know
                - have they contacted anyone in the past (Ancients, Goa'uld, Asgard, Tauri)
                - what are their intentions now
                - how will it change the status quo
                - have they got any special biological skill or technological advance
                Since the MW is described as a really huge galaxy and the Goa'uld ruled most of it, we can't expect big alien empires, maybe a few controlled planets.

                I could imagine that the Ancients preferred the humans as they reminded them to themselves. The Nox could be the guardian of non-humanoid races. The Asgard believed in technology. While we don't know the the Furlings intentions, but probably they could be a race of chaos which leaded to the fall of the Great Alliance.

                Or even the Ancients could be split up into different subgroups depends which philosophy they followed. I was thinking what if the Parcae could represent this ideological war:
                https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parcae
                So Nona (Clotho) could be the creator - they are the one who believed to create life, to create new paradise worlds around the Milky Way through the stargate with the Dakara technology, so humans can spread across the stars
                Decima (Lachesis) could be the maintainer - they believed that every life and ecosystem should be preserved as they exist now, they were strongly against forcing their own technology and kind in the galaxy, but they were also against destroying the rebellious smaller races
                Morta (Atropos) could be the destroyer - they are the one who believed they have got the right the wipe out life in star systems if somebody doesn't respect the Ancients or if they tried to rebel against them
                You know the Parcae were three ladies who were the "fate goddesses". But what if the thread of life is the DNA? Or what if their Spindle is the Stargate and the thread is the acces to wormhole technology? So they were deciding the fate of civilizations on a galaxy wide level while the story was told as a warning to the ancient Greeks or Romans.

                So whatever happened the Ancients had a major disagreement in the past how to handle other lifeforms, which are not humans or non controllable humanoids. Earlier I wrote some examples what if they were left out of the gate system. Philosophically even the planting of the gate system is an interfere of evolution. Shall they do it or not? Should only the Earth based evolution forms and life to be spreaded to other planets? Were there any other candidates? Maybe that could be a reason why the Great Alliance has fallen apart as the Nox stepped up to guard the smaller, younger races, because they believed in harmony and unity, while the Furlings tried to erase the weaker ones or those ones which controlled important minerals etc., but when they wanted to stop them they have even poisioned the Ancients. The surviver Ancients have gone to Pegasus, the Asgard decided to protect only their colonies and moved back to the Ida galaxy, the Nox stepped down and became an isolationist race as they couldn't manage the spreading aggression, while the Furlings... Well we don't know what happened with them, but according to Stargate : Worlds they would have played a major role of the spreading of the Goa'uld. Maybe they believed this race can guard the solar systems, while the Ancients were away. Maybe the infection was effecting all the Great Alliance races (sent by the Ori or any other new potential threat from an other galaxy), so that is the reason that four great races decided to wait and let the galaxy evolve by itself. Just they simply haven't calculated in that the Goa'uld turn evil and the whole galaxy felt into chaos of fighting Systemlords. So when they have returned from the Pegasus they tried to establish a new Camelot alliance against the Goa'uld, while other guarded the life on Earth and some other groups became tired of war and they ascended. But I am not so sure about the SG timeline, if the Goa'uld era was before or after the Merlin era.

                Anyway what matters is that maybe the Ancients commited some crimes in the past (Atlantis showed a few of failed experiments) what we don't know yet. Honestly I want to get rid of them as the writers have really overcomplicated this race. They have given them a God type personality, so they can watch the mortals from an other level of existence. That is wrong, because then the heroes will always expect to communicate with them or waiting for some interactions. They already couldn't handle the Anubis or Adria, as a random Ancient had to sacrifice herself to save the Tauri. I don't want to see it happen for the third time, because it is a bit lazy way of sorting out a problem, what they have created in the first place. They could have introduced a less powerful enemy. So I am sorry, but the Ancients should go as they have done with the Ori too. Just the TPTB should write them out with a creative way.

                * * *

                What I have missed from the Ba'al storyline, that they should have revelead that they have a connected mind. So every Baal could see what the other Baal achieved and the memories of the clones would be collected by the real Baal. Because SG-1 has killed so many versions in the last 2 seasons that it looks like a waste that the Baals could not change experience with each other. But we could still find out a creative story to introduce this explanation.

                * * *

                I could imagine an other civil scenario in Stargate. What if there would be a tour company which brings escorted groups through the stargate. I know it sounds a bit weird, but what if people would pay money to visit other worlds. So there would be different escorted groups, different "initiaries". Since the Stargate is not revealed on Earth, it could be based on an other human civilization. It would be fun to run into such explorers on a different planet. Or something would go wrong and then the heroes should rescue these reckless adventurers. Just simply I would like to see that not the Tauri is the only one who goes for adventures in the galaxy, so what if there would be other competitors with SGC. Other humans, other intentions, evil or good etc.

                * * *

                By the way they should really make a Genesis type episode. Just show us how the Ancients could terraform a planet. Have they changed the atmosphere? Have they sent some waves through the stargate to create life? Or have made a dome type closed ecosystem around the gate which was widened later? How much time did it take to terraform the planet? Was there a "starter pack" of trees, bugs, flowers etc.? So I definatley would like to see how the Ancients played Sim : Planet. And they could build a few stories what happened if they made mistakes...

                * * *

                Phoenix wise even the Priors could have fit into that role. They burn at their death, but what if they could "respawn" again. Or they could have been an alien race who served the Ori and they have reached this near-ascension state (that is the reason they are in flames), but the Ancients have sent them back, but this cycle just repeats itself. Maybe they could have been the spies for the Ori, but since the Ancients blocked them they were locked up in a planet, but now they want revenge and to spread out in the galaxy. Since they have closed the Ori storyline, we could find an other reason how to introduce the Phoenix as a race in the Milky Way. So many cultures have got a bird-man type mythological influence that the Phoenixes could be introduced easily.

                * * *

                I would like to see stargates in caves. What if there would be a race there which has got an anti-gravity organ, so they would live their life on the ceiling of the caves / buildings? It would be funny that the heroes arrive and they fall on the ground, while the DHD and the gate is fixed on the ceiling. So the Ancients knew that this bat type intelligent race have special needs, so they placed their stargate upside down and it is located on the ceiling. It could be fun how to deal with this situation, because even if they wouldn't have a first contact in an episode just to climb back and to dial somehow would be fun to watch. Later they could meet this race, who could levitate as they could change the gravity as they want, but they would be really vulnerable outside as they could be sensitive to sun radiation etc. Maybe a space-drow type alien races could be introduced. But maybe they could have such technology what would be essential to artificial gravity on space ships, so maybe even the Goa'uld tried to conquer them etc. There are so many options.

                * * *

                Or there could be an ant type alien race which has got a massive underground hive with a stargate. They would like to have a bad habit to burrow the stargates on such worlds what they visit...

                Or even the Tok'ra tunnels could have a connection with some cave living aliens. Not to mention the chrystal based aliens. So there would be options how to create stories around them while they could connect them to earlier episodes. As you can see I like imagining not just underwater, but other aliens with different environment needs too.

                * * *
                If you remember the Hephaistos idea... What if he had an influence in the Pegasus galaxy? Hephaistos = Heff = Hoffian - he started to poising the well to save the humans from the Wraith. That could have been a great plot twist that somehow he could flew in the Pegasus galaxy on his Ha'tak ship.

                * * *

                Talking about plot twist. I am the only one who always wanted to believe that John Sheppard was an Ancient? I really hoped that they will reveal it in Stargate : Atlantis, that actually that is the main reason he is so good with Ancient technology, as he used to be Ancient. So that could be a reason while the Ancients were interested how he will defend the city etc.

                By the way... The whole Ancient gene is a mess in the tv show. Genetic skills can not be random. Because I could imagine that some recessive genes can be carried by humans, so if someone has got such parents then the two genetic allels could create a stronger skill. But what would happen after that? Why would the Ancients hide the access to their technology in genetic riddles? What would happen if a small population has got the gene, so technically everybody would inherit it? It could be connected to the Goa'uld genetic memory and the Harsiesis concept. Maybe the Ancients were worried that the Goa'uld will steal their genetic marks from human hosts.

                * * *

                I have just rewatched the season 9 of SG-1 and I couln't remember that they introduced so many gate related discoveries:
                - beachhead gates
                - supergates
                - Baal to build own stargate network with stealing of stargates and DHDs
                - ripple effect of other realities
                - gate filtering the organic traveler and resend them to neutral planet in Prototype
                - people can use the stargate in transphase (Chrystal skull story is connected to Sodan technology)

                So I am definately a fan of such gate related ideas and discoveries. I wish they could use my own as well. As you can see I am still full of ideas, maybe I should work on my own scifi world.

                  Just a few more random idea:

                  1. I always wanted to see a giant catterpillar to go through the stargate. Don't ask it why, but it would look cool as a ship sized animal would sneak through the gate.

                  2. I was thinking on the "Genesis" project.
                  - it could be made in a time dilation field, where the inner evolution is accelerated, but there would be some malfunctions (like visitors would not be allowed to enter such worlds through the stargate as a safety protocoll would prevent it ; or the visitors could infect the ecosystem with a simply infection, but even bacterials could grow into a cat sized living things - so the whole system would be infected with amoebae type "aliens" rapidly) - I know similar ideas were used in Star Trek 2 and even in the Stargate (like in Brief Candle or Quest)
                  - the rapid aging could be reused for the Phoenixes - they would very quickly reborn, then burn then reborn then burn again - the team would later discover that they changed the time field to haste their own evolution / biological ugprade
                  - or one of the Great Alliance races could send "orbs" through a space gate what would be growned artificially into a planet. The Ori was capable of collapsing planets with energy fields, so what if the Ancients could create a planet and put into place around a sun
                  - even Asgard could prevent / guard smaller races with time dilation field
                  - our new races could be in such prisons
                  - earlier I brainstormed about such technology what could move or transport a planet through the stargate, this idea could work maybe in Pegasus galaxy where are more space gates (or if the gate system is upgraded in MW) - even a new alien race could move around its home planet through the network (like Travelers just not with ships rather with a planet)

                  3. I was still thinking on this bird headed aliens, then our heroes would have a conversation:
                  - Take of your Jaffa Guard Mask, now! It is an order! - then he tries to pull it off by himself.
                  - Ehh, sir. That is not a mask.
                  Or something similar. Imagine this awkward first contact situation.

                  4. Or they could introduce such smaller races which are not hostile and they don't want to ruin over other planets, but if they use the gate system their own biology would infect other human civilizations as a side-effect. Like releasing toxic spores into the atmosphere or have a radiation emission.

                  5. It would be cool to see such an alien race which can live in very high temperature environments. Later they could cool down a planet atmosphere in time as they can swallow the sun energy. So these aliens were put on such planets which needed terraformation and they "worked" for the Ancients. But since their masters are gone and they are not willing to guide them anymore (means to offer new terraformable planets), then they could be potentially harmful for human civilizations. Maybe they could even blackmail civilizations to change or to poison their athmosphere if they don't accept their demands.

                    I have just entertained myself with a few more ideas while I had a busy day at my workplace.

                    1. The malp goes to a desert world. Nothing interesting or exciting. Then it turns around they will notice that there are spikes installed on the stargate. The team goes there to investigate this unique modified stargate, then later it would be revealed it is protecting the stargate being eaten by giant snake or worm type aliens. I know it sounds a bit like Dune, but it would be to funny to see in an episode intro. Then the heroes would escape back, while a big earthworm starts to follow them through the gate. Since it is so big it won't materialize on the other side, so they can see it through the malp's video that it is nonstoply sneaking in. Since it was not swallowed completly, so they could close the Iris / energy shield. The whole situation would be just a training for the cadets to understand the physics of wormhole, then it would be revealed that this dangerous planet was just a training place for them.

                    2. Next ide is rather about a new gate type or gatework. So I imagined a little mini Stonehenge type of clearing. Heroes could arrive with ship or ring transport there. The rings drops them in the middle of the circle building. There are nine coloumns there, which have got different 4 glyphs on them while the strange triangle parts what are located underground are the chevrons! So the 9 coloums are technically 9 equal pieces of a stargate which stands out of the ground like claws or skeleton pieces or giant fingers. They would like spikey vertabras, maybe I should call it as a "bone gate" . Then this new type of stargate portal could be activated then the 9 pieces could dig themselves out or tilted then attached together like transforming into a ring standing horizontally or vertically.

                    I believe it would look cool and the space gate version of this gate could be enlarged if the 9 symmetrical piece keeps a distance from each other with an energy field or whatever. I will try to draw it this idea, because maybe you can't follow me.

                    3. I was also wondering what happens if somebody enters the wormhole from behind? So they dial in, wormhole is established and we know it is transparent from behind, but then what happens if somebody runs through the gate while someone else has just arrived? Will it cause a problem? Will they merge? etc.

                    The main reason I am interested, because I imagined a horizontally placed stargate where the kawoosh goes up to the ceiling. So when the traveller would fall back to the event horizont, a coloumn will push him up from behind the stargate through the horizont which would feel the organic traveler. This idea would look cool in a giant cave, where the arrived traveler is standing helplessly on a coloumn while the gate is somewhere down. But this idea wouldn't work, because what would happen if more traveler arrives? They couldn't be materialized in the middle of the coloumn.

                    So I was thinking on the opposite. There would be an execution scene, but instead of just pushing them in front of the kawoosh, what if they would stand on a coloumn, while the activated gate just dropped from the ceiling and while it falls down the victim would be forced into the wormhole.

                    4. I was thinking on the Phoenix idea. There is an Asgard (and Ancient) experiment on a planet, where they wanted to achieve an increased evolution rate that they locked up a freshly created, uninhabited planet in a time dilation field. That would be a normal protocoll for creating life on a planet (with Dakara ray or Eden type of domes) and let the nature conquest the surface and change atmosphere within a few decades or centuries as it would be equal to thousand or millions of years outside. So the time would slow there, while the outside world wouldn't notice it. Maybe the Phoenix race was using the stargate system, when they accidentally dialed in to this forbidden planet. Or they could be part of the original ecosystem. But anyway they evolved from a bird like creature, who couldn't leave the planet as the stargate was locked and waited for the future Asgard colonists and obviously it was too complicated for them to understand how the DHD works. When the Asgard returned long time later, they realized a new intelligent life has been developed there in spite of the local sun's strong radiation, so they stopped the time dilation field as they were worried that the Phoenixes will gain more and more technological, biological and spiritual power and later they can overthrow them if they could escape from this planet. How to say... What would happen if they could overthrow their masters. While the time field stopped the Phoenix biology hasn't. The Phoenix evolution was adapted to the slow time field, but it would be really accelarated in real time without the artificial block. So that could be an explanation while their life cycle has really speeded up. The Asgard worried that maybe they should let them die out quickly as they can be a potential danger to the universe. A group of Ancients and the Nox were on other opinion as they felt responsible for their past actions to guide the younger races. They offered them teaching (like near-Ascension state) to save this dying, quickly aging race, because even genetic modifications couldn't help them so quickly. And that was the biggest mistake of the older races what they could have done after the time field. The Phoenixes were corrupted by the Ori (it would be revealed later they have sent their birds to this planet long time ago to undermind the Alliance) or they would just turn evil for some other reasons, so the Ancients decided to stop the process, but it was too late. The Phoenixes gained lots of knowledge about the universe, sp the Ancients decided they should never leave their home planet. This single accelarated evolution shocked the other intelligent races who wanted to study them, so a few were taken by ships. Some of them have escaped and returned through the stargate, then the Phoenixes started to visit other worlds as they have discovered a whole galaxy around them. Their first contats caused disasters as they can be radioactive at the flaming stage. Later the Ancients wanted to help or to stop them and they offered a truce, but the Phoenixes already started to ascend, but then they were sent back to their normal form as they were hostile on the ascended level too to the Ancients. But once they learned the ascension it became part of their nature like an addiction. So the burning-reborn cycle started in their physiology and it happened more and more rapidly. The Great Alliance couldn't find out any other solution as they turned back the time dilation field, but now intead of slowing them down (as this step would cause even more harm in long term as they would have an evolution advance against the outside world), it would accelarate time on this particular planet. They hoped that if they lock up the Phoenixes in their distant home planet then they can not harm any other races in the gate system, while their radically decreased biological lifetime would stop their evolution as they would ascend and return to their normal form day by day now. That is somehow their story starts, when our heroes contact them. The Ancients and the Asgard and the Ori are gone, while the Phoenixes planned their own revenge against their masters...

                    As I was imagining the Phoenix as a race, I could see a cyberpunk bird-human type look in front me. I don't know why. Like a half melted clock cogs with a mix of owl look. Or they could be even "replicator birds" which are burning at night then they reform themselves in the morning from the ashes. This could be explained on some many ways. Maybe they could be a potential treat in the Asgard galaxy and they would fight with or against the Vanir now etc.

                    They could melt metals, absorb radioactivity. So in spite of their harmful nature, they are intelligent and even if it is really hard to communicate with them or to convince them about almost anything, they could be an ally/enemy to clear the skies of infected planets or establish colonies on such unhabitable worlds which are very close to the suns. So they could definately start to build their own little galactic empire and they would move a few stargate to place them on other planets which are closer to the suns. That could cause some interesting conflicts. Or if we imagine them as true neutral race, maybe they could even heal other races from radioactivity or any light related injury etc. So maybe they won't be as bad as it seems, just simply they can not stay too long in our atmosphere as it fuels their burning cycle and it makes it toxic to other races, so they have to return to their own warmer planets. Or the heroes could find out how to forge them such protective suits / gate ships what would allow them to visit other worlds etc.

                    But we know what happens when fire and water meets. So probably they would have a clash with the underwater alien race.

                    5. Transfering planets. I was wondering how cool it would be if a KINOs would be a container of a miniature moon / planet, so technically they were carrying potential liveable planets in their pockets which could have be increased to the right size with their technology.

                    6. Or if we don't want to play Ant-Man with planets, then I suggested to be able to transport planet(s) through space gates. It would be nice to find a race which hides their homeplanet from hostile races this way. Like a new version of Travelers race.

                    7. Then I was thinking on a hidden world. The heroes would discover that there is a gap in the gate system. The Ancients were intelligent folks, they would never let anyone die because of the gate system. So every time someone can not materialize on the other side, then the gate memory would send the traveler to a "storage world". Iris is an exemption because that is a mechanical barrier, so it would work only by Ancient energy shields, So we could see a few old characters or ships or whatever there. Imagine that Wraith darts, Genii soldiers would show up there in that planet in the Pegasus galaxy etc.

                    8. Or they could imagine this hidden subroutine that they are simply travelling through the gate, but they would lose some items on the other side whent they are materialized. So they would investigate some gate filters for anorganic materials, but they would shortly discover that some thieves robbed them through the journey in that 0,3 sec (!!!).

                    9. I also would like to see a scenario, when the gate is activated on that way that the gate is nonstoply spinning around a vertical axis. So it would be challenging to enter the gate once it is activated. We could explain it why they needed this on that planet. Maybe it is a "gate weapon", so an incoming beam could spread in every direction or whatever. Or a local race is nonstoply spinning around itself, so the Ancient adapted the stargate to their physiology. (But then what would they do on other planets?).

                    Okay, that was all for today. Some ideas shows up in mind while I am sleeping. SG is definately my favorite scifi world.

                      I was thinking that the Earth and SGC could be written off for a few years, if a hostile race attacks them because of the Wormhole Drive (which activated some galaxies wide alarm to interfere), that Earth's only hope is Atlantis. They activate the cloaking sield and they would extend it to the whole Earth. Or they could move it to transphase (like it happened in a different timeline) with the help of Atlantis. But the enemy would find the second Atlantis gate from the exploded Hive ship, so they would believe Atlantis has flown back to the Pegasus galaxy, so they would temporarily leave Earth and our solar system to hunt down the city there. While in reality Atlantis would be still on Earth just hided.

                      Then the only communication in MW would be still the old MW gate, but it would moved to the new Moon Base what would be an Ancient outpost / shipyard / half finished gate building ship etc. Or it could be even a long forgotten Furling base. The gate would transported from the old SGC (until refurbishment) to there and they could visit the place with ring transports / Asgard transports / Furling transport (like in Lost Paradise) from Earth.

                      Since the two different stargates are separated from distance and one of them is in transphase, then both could work: MW gate on Earth and Pegasus gate on Atlantis (near San Francisco). I believe this one would be a starting believable scenario, if we want to keep Earth and Atlantis in the game then later Atlantis could leave Earth and fly back if the story goes back there. If the gate bridge would be rebuilt then we could have a new connection to the Pegasus galaxy again or even Atlantis could dial the Halfway Station (with some technological loops as they are in other phase).

                        Plenty enough ideas, aliens and myths in here now for several new SG shows! Perhaps not set on the Milky Way, tho. P-}

                        It isn't unthinkable that the Baal clones share data and experiences via coded transmissions or emailed diaries or FaceBook. It is also very possible that the original Baal uses his own clones as advisors and co-strategists. It would help explain his high IQ.

                        The ATA genes are supposed to be a convenient way to (un)lock gadgets, not an impregnable security system. And yes, feels like they are already quite widespread among humans, and will only spread more, thus feeding the idea of humans as "heirs" of the Ancients.

                        I've toyed with the idea of big animals thru the Gate, too. Or passenger trains, for that matter. But Naquadah-eating giant monsters would be sooooo cool!

                        Regardless of its exact workings, the Stone-Gate-Henge needs to exist! Perhaps that's how the Nox (or the Furlings) hide their private networks?

                        "The wrong side of the wormhole" has been explored already, IIRC. Also, execution-by-kawoosh.

                        The Phoenix could simply be a star-dwelling alien lifeform?

                        Your "storage world" would be a nifty SG version of Bermuda Triangle, I reckon. But the Gates already function to enable all kinds of travels, and put all kinds of civilizations into close contact. Not sure what the "Bermuda Triangle" could add to the mix.

                        The "Spinning Gate" could be a special test or an execution method. Pass = reward. Fail = death.

                        The "Missing Earth" scenario has a lot of potential, indeed!

                          Still nobody else is here to appriciate the ideas. Maybe I should have a word with Brad Wright.

                          Okay, I haven't calculated it in that the gate is made of naqadah, so my giant animals wouldn't be able to digest it. Maybe that would be a lesson for the students too. But who knows... There are so many races in the galaxy, what if something could digest the precious stargates...

                          I was still thinking.... What if a hostile alien race comes to the Milky Way as the Wormhole Drive was activated. They warned the Ancients long time ago to never ever dare to enter their galaxy with any highly advance ships which are capable of jumping such distances. Later we could find a logical reason why they feel frightened about it. Anyway they they would "curse" the galaxy with the massive FTL block, so while they would spare the local people and races they would hold back their technological development. They could use dark matter energy or whatever, so they would force the local races to the gate system, so they would never be able to cross their ways. (They could be the race from "Grace" and the owner could be the people of Quatzelquatl. Since the Goa'uld has gone, maybe their motives have changed too....)

                          Or if we want to make a dramatic scenario, then they would be able to detect all possible technology in the galaxy which would be capable of Wormhole Drive jump so they would fly to find and probably destroy the Nox city ship instead of Atlantis. Maybe that is the reason why they would leave the Earth atmosphere after a blockade. The Nox would lure them away as they go to an other galaxy with the help of the ascended Ancients, while Atlantis must fly away from Earth back to the Pegasus galaxy. The new SGC would try to prepare for the returning invasion so they must forge new alliances in the galaxy. The only problem is if the anti-FTL galaxy-wide technology is activated then Atlantis could also just slowly drift back to the Pegasus galaxy...

                          Or it would be nice to see Earth as the leader of the Asgard Protected Planets as they are the heir of the Asgard legacy. Soon they would discover that the 26 planets have been attacked by the Lucian Alliance and other ravanger races for Asgard technology, so the enemies of the SGC would discover the beaming technology too. And I am pretty sure the Vanir would have a different opinion who is the real heir of the Asgard....

                          Some hostile race would capture the supergate as well. Maybe they would be able to reproduce it or force the people in the Ori galaxy to build more. That would be an essential step in an FTL-less galaxy. So they will quickly clash with the SGC who also wants to multiply the same technology.

                          Other races would fight for a gate seeding ship. The Wormhole Drive would also activate a recall beacon that the Ancients returns to Avalon, so a stranded gate seeding ship which was stopped by the new hostile bad guys would fly back to the galaxy, but then everybody would fight for it to build more stargate etc. Or it could be crashed on a planet and that could be a new starting base for adventures.

                          The writers should still explain what happened with the Destiny type stargates in MW and Pegasus. So if the Ancients has planeted those at first, it would be nice to hear some stories how they upgraded it. Maybe the crashed Ancient seeing ship would be a key to save Destiny (see my other topic) or they could even dial in to an other galaxy, where a completly new gate system would wait for the heroes. And that is how the change sizing of starggate technology would be discovered and would be spread in MW too. There are so many options to do it right.

                          Or the hostile race which visit Earth could have been in the a different dimension for the whole time. That is the reason I feel the Giants from Chrystal Skulls would be a good starting point as it would be discovered they could have been part of the Great Four Race Alliance, but they decided to say NO. And later they would revealed what happened in the past and how it effect to current situation etc.

                          The spinning stargate.. Well it could be the synchronization of the rotation of the planet when they teleport it through the wormhole. Once it is activated it would start to spin around quicker and quicker etc, but then it would slow down and "change back" to a normal stargate after the transportion. Or the stargates could turn to the sun like a sunflower. Okay, I am just kidding.

                          edit 2.: I have written down a little synopsis of my spinoff idea :
                          https://forum.gateworld.net/threads/...9#post14620359

                          * * *

                          While the Earth (and its orbit) is in transphase, maybe they would be able to discover with satellites that the Nazca lines have a hidden message. Like a big giant notebook what can be read only in such condition. And this new information could lead to the discovery of transphase gates or to the Giant Aliens. Or they could be even a ruler race in an other galaxy with a new stargate network... Or they could be the aliens who maintain the blockade. The main reason it would be cool to involve them as they could explain that they have used the Crystal skull technology to bring some Earth based people to different planets in Milky Way or in their home galaxy. Since they are an expert of transphase technology, we could connect to story to the Nox, the Rhee'tou, the Sodan, the transphase animals in season 6 and even some Goa'uld experiments (see Hathor, Nirrti and the Ashraks). So even this step would shake up sligthly the Milky Way, the new gate protocolls would be only extra. Or those steps could be kept for an other spinoff.

                          Or the Earth could be moved in a different alternate reality under the "blockade" and when they return 10 years later they would notice that everything has changed. But I believe the transphase dialing would be more fun. Maybe the colour change of the chevrons would indicate if they are are dialing normal or transphase gates etc.

                          edit. Spinning stargate : it could be a simple explanation. It is a defense mechanism what could prevent that gateships would be able to leave the wormhole. So they would build in a rotating mechanism to spin the stargate around a vertical axis if it is activated like a modern replacement of Iris or energy shields. So only those ones could go there who knows how to turn it off, or if you have the Atoneik ribbon device (from 4x03 Upgrades) or if we would really introduce beaming through the stargate with Asgard tech or Goa'uld rings. Not to mention that we have our Guardian as an ally, who could help in such problematic gate travelling.

                          Obviously the Guardian is the DHD living AI character, who closed the stargate and the Academy. I was thinking that there would be so many way to introduce him. Maybe he would pretend to be a human at first, then an Ancient hologram in the beginning, but when the heroes would earn his trust he would guide and educate them like he did in the past. Basically he could play a base commander type character, but since he is an alien entity they wouldn't know his true motives. He would be very careful to not reveal his true form, so he could turn into any race (who touched the DHD as the main chrystal is his "lamp"). Or later they could find out that he is evil and he or his feared enemies sent the alien ships to keep Earth under the blockade. It would be a nice twist at the end of the season that maybe he is not friendly at all and a main character would turn into the main villain for the new show. Anyway the writers would have so much options to introduce his race, his character, his motives and his skills. And the best part is that he could be still played by a human actor, so budget wise this AI character could work in the SG mythology.

                          The long forgotten and abadonned Academy could be the starting point of that particular viral infection what decimated the Ancients. Maybe that is the reason he feels guilty and locked himself and his stargate from the network. Maybe everybody was wiped out while he stayed alive. Or later Merlin came there to establish the Alliance of the Round Table against the Goa'uld, but then the Academy was betrayed again. So there would be lots of option to reveal some flashback types episodes or to hear more about the history of the Ancients and the galaxy.

                            I see the thread's views keep climbing. People read it, even if they don't contribute ideas. Not surprising, given the amount/quality of the ones already posted. A shining example is having the Wormhole Drive trigger alien unease/attack. I can see the dominoes falling! Don't miss the pilot/premiere: "Wormhole Whack-a-mole"! ^_^

                            Or a nasty indestructible slime mold encroaching onto and slowly eating away the precious precious Rings, spreading every time a Gate is used! It could even be a second attack vector from the same pissed-off aliens.

                            Asgard heirs unite... to fight each other! Why hasn't it happened already? Who'll win? Curious minds want to know! P-}

                            Supergates could become backdoors for inter-galactic invasion as easily as regular Gates can for inter-stellar invaders. Or even inter-dimensional ones. Really, we should have seen that one (in)coming! >B^)>

                            Building new Gates? Improved Ring designs? Sign me up for that one, too. Could it (at long last) entice some Ancients to come back to our level of existence? Maybe lend a hand? Oh, the mayhem! The awesomeness!

                            I'd keep the Spinning Stargate as simple as possible. Cool as the concept is, I'm not sure the wormholes would allow them to actually spin that much, anyway. That said, someone could try to steal a planet's entire atmosphere thru a floating active Stargate that spins faster and faster, presumably to better vacuum the gases. It would be a serious mischief, as well as an homage to "2010: Odyssey 2".

                            Maybe the Nazca lines on Earth aren't complex enough, but if something similar and more advanced was found on another planet... endless possibilities!

                            With a long enough budget we could move the stars!!!

                              Oh thank you for the kind words. I am just a fan and earlier I was afraid to share my ideas because of the language barrier. But I try to express myself, so everyone can enjoy the ideas. in spite of my grammatical mistakes. I love this scifi world, but probably you noticed it. I also have got lots of alien race ideas what I tried to develop for my own scifi world, but I feel I am not enough talented to sit down and to write that book. Maybe one day.

                              Anyway, here are a few more random ideas:

                              1. How could MW races build stargates or supergates?

                              - stealing Tollan tech : nobody said that somebody was search the ruins of Tollana after the destruction of this race
                              - finding a Destiny-type gate on a locked planet : if that gate system was the original, maybe the Ancient haven't collected back all of them as the "normal" MW gates gained priority anyway
                              - the 10-15 Priors are still there : so even if the Ori and Adria have gone, they are still advanced humans, so maybe some of them wants to gain power. Or if a Goa'uld make one of them to be a host then they could gain some technology
                              - simply study the supergates : but as I said before, I would like to introduce 5 different sized stargate (Orlin, MW, extended MW (aka Transformers gate), Beachhead, supergate), so they would let through different sized people(Orlin = people, MW - jumpers and new jumper types, extended MW : tel'tacs and alkesh, Beachhead : Ha'taks and X304s and supergate : Ori ships)
                              - maybe the Wormhole Drive could make a recall signal for a gate seeding ship, what would fly back from an other galaxy (it could have a new gate network type on the board for a 4th spinoff) or it could produce new type of stargates (likes the extended MW or any new upgraded MW gates)
                              - or they would find a DHD factory - maybe there would be time to introduce some new DHD functions (like gate-DHD bubble shield, normal energy shield on gate, selecting transphase/normal dialing, tour guide AI, hologram dialing list with gate addresses, last visitors could be played back as holograms, gate could be levitated to the planet's orbit or called back to the DHD)
                              - steal Asgard tech : protected planets are not protected at the moment, so I am sure a few worlds would pay the Lucian Alliance well for a replica of Thor's Hammer

                              I was also thinking on your short distance dialing. What if somebody finds a Destiny-gate then they try integrate it to the MW system, so the whole dialing protocolls would be stopped for a while. Like a different version of Avengers. This idea would be perfect for 1-2 episodes, but later it would be annoying that we want to go from A to B, but then we have to use a few more gates in the middle. I believe this step would slow down the action /discovery part of a new SG show. Or it could only work if some civilizations would move some particular stargates from the neighbourhood, so they could be dialed in from just one particular gate. Then the enemies of that "clever" civilization would destroy them, so the moral sayings would be to NOT temper the the local gate system or if you do, don't trust yourself just on one stargate connection....

                              2. Nacza lines = this idea showed up in my mind that what if those lines something only if the planet is in transphase position like an ultraviolet drawing or extended marks on the surface of Earth : maybe they directly wanted to send a message for the Giant Aliens or the blockade race who visited Earth before etc. Or they could introduce a secret alien base on Earth from mythological legends which was there for the whole time, just in transphase.

                              3. Spinning stargate : I believe the idea could still work as one of the group would use this method to "shield" their gate. Just I imagined that if they spin, then you can not really put stairs there, so everybody would step out into a hole... so maybe a robotic mechanism would provide steps which also spins the gate

                              4. I am not so sure about the athmosphere stealing. As far as I remember they established it in the shows that water or gases could express pressure on wormhole, but it won't directly flood the other side (like in the Atlantis 5x06 The shrine). That is the reason I was a bit worried about my underwater race idea as how could their seawater go thrugh the gate? But it is a scifi, so maybe the rewrite some protocolls. Because I was thinking what if they flooded the Ancient outpost in Antartica? Or some alien stuffs would melt from the decreasing glaciers there or on North Pole...

                              Or when I talked about the "floating forest" idea... It would look cool from space as this new microorganism would just rapidly spread on cloud level and then slowly covers the sunshine below what would lead to ecological catasthrophy. Like the Creep from StarCraft just in atmosphere. What could the ground based civilization do who hasn't got cannons or space ships? The owner of these floating forest could be a new major player in the Milky Way.

                              5. I would like to definately to see what happened in the Milky Way :
                              - the Tok'Ra : I am pretty sure that soon it or later a Jaffa group wouldn't be able to forgive them that they are also Goa'uld, so they would send a symbiote poison to their planet. Plot twist.... it was not the Jaffas to commit this massacre, but the Aschens who wanted to start a conflict between them.
                              - the Jaffa : according to the Stargate:Worlds, they would have fallen into two groups : Free Jaffa and Loyal Jaffa. And I love this idea. Imagine that you can live for 130-150 years, heal from your wounds. So whatever the tretonin offers, some Jaffas would never accept it as their normal life would be only 70-80 years after the change. So if we think logically, I doubt that they would give up to carry the larvas, so maybe they would turn to the Goa'ulds even if they wouldn't be worshipped anymore.
                              - Ori : as I said the MW should deal with the afterlife of the Priors. Maybe not all of them have gone to the Ori galaxy. They are advanced humans, but maybe they can be also easily corrupted. Anyway their stuffs would be also great for treasure and technology hunters
                              - Lucian Alliance : I believe this group is a failure from the writers. I didn't like them too much. They could explain more about the attack against Destiny and the terror attack in Washington. Or they should be quickly disbanded or weakened.
                              - Hebridans : if they can organize space races, then I am sure they have a pretty fleet. They were quickly mentioned as the follower of the Ori in season 9, but we don't know anything else about them. I am sure that the space nazi Aschen wouldn't be happy to see some reptilan, humans and hybrids to live together in peace
                              - Goa'uld : well.... maybe a new dynasyty should try to rise again. Maybe a new Queen and her childrens.
                              - Ancients : I am not a big fan of this ascended stroyline. They are way too strong as they are gods technically and then our heroes could always expect their interfere when the galaxy turns into chaos. So I believe they should leave galaxy with some creative ideas. Who knows? Somebody brings back the Sangraal or the Wormhole drive can cause some breaks on that level of existence, so an even higher race would come for a revenge. But then it would be a rip-off from Babylon 5. So it would be more interesting to find out what have they done in the past that not everybody was overly happy that the first gate system was built.
                              - Asgard: as I wrote before, we have to deal with their legacy while the Vanirs would also have some plans. There would be so many options to tell stories what are they doing in the Ida galaxy then why do come to the Milky Way. And what would Earth do if they would steal informations from their Asgard Core?

                              6. The Academy name is just a temporary name. I wanted to introduce such a location in the Milky Way, what could be a potential new base for a new show. But then we have to explain why Earth is not available, what happened with Atlantis. Why was this place not discovered before? Why is it interesting or unique in the MW system? Has it got its own secret and interesting past and technologies? Because I try to brainstorm such ideas what could lead to more story ideas or elements.

                              So I was thinking ...
                              - what if the Academy was the starting point of the illness what almost killed all the Ancients?
                              - what if the Academy's gate is capable of dialing transphase gates / worlds?
                              - what if the Academ's DHD is unique as I wanted to introduce the guardian as the space jinn which lives in the DHD, so maybe He would be the upgrade why the local DHD or/and the gate would be unique
                              - what if the planet was moved from an other galaxy to the Milky way through the stargate? Maybe they would discover it just later
                              - plot twist idea what if the Guardian has sent the ships to keep Earth under blockade, so he wanted to meet with them (but then we have to leave out the Nox idea, but they should be involved later because of their cityship and transphase skills) - so his intentions are not necessarily good or evil, but maybe he wants to achieve something through the heroes so that is the reason he needed "workers" to make some quests in the Milky way (maybe he can't or won't leave the Academy planet as it would reveal he or his planet is from an other galaxy)
                              - but if we don't want to make him a bad guy, later they could still find out much more about his race and what happened in the past with them, if there are more in MW or any other galaxy etc.

                                Heh, it's a big galaxy full of english-speaking people!

                                Do sit down and write. That should improve your skills.

                                One trouble I see with advanced tech is that it tends to eclipse character and plot. It's a fine line between awesome and dull to watch (even if it's a joy to write!). And there's a lot of very advanced tech already in SG's Milky Way. That said, it can work beautifully either as MacGuffin or as trigger for more interesting things. For these purposes I think your random ideas are a goldmine, either as-is, or simplified (as in Nazca-transphase vs Nazca-offworld).

                                It's the "annoying" aspect of short-range Gating that brings the newness: "flyover" worlds would need to be explored, maybe secured. Places once within easy reach would become adventurous to go to. Stealing or destroying Rings would have far greater consequences. Trade and war would be disrupted. The Lucian Alliance could become more dangerous... At the same time, trips where all intermediate stops are easy would still be easy overall, so that part of the "SG vibe" needn't be lost. P-}

                                As for stealing a significant portion of a planet's air thru the Gate, I'd use some kind of vacuum pump. P-}

                                Floating Forest: cool. Floating Forest disseminating mind-altering "enslaver" spores: Creepy! Until someone comes along with a big Archimedes' Mirror...

                                Perhaps your "Academy" could be the old and forgotten site of an Ancient Lab for unknown but awesome yet extremely dangerous experiments/tech. Its associated "Knowledge Repository" and "Side Library" (with thousands of wisdom-laden tablets) and dozens of buried tunnels (with even more tablets), have been attracting scientists, scholars, students, pilgrims, and even monks, from many planets, for generations. Hence the moniker "Academy". There could be many different groups with conflicting interests, strange phenomena, secretive Djinn lifeforms, a subspace/transphase beacon which distorts Gate travel, an ultimate purpose for the entire planet... Perhaps the Ancients didn't build it, only found it, and were studying its mysteries without ever finding out all its secrets? It'll be a miracle if the Milky Way survives unscathed!
