I'm hearing a lot of people pants on this film. Saying things like it buggers up many aspects of the novels, in some cases flat out ignoring what is in many of the novels, leaves out some keep stuff, and even the acting (other than Idris) is just plane crummy.

Anyone else seen it yet, and felt the same way?

Just got back from seeing it. Forget the books entirely, because besides using some names, it bears little to no resemblance to them whatsoever.
Dark Tower movie 1/10 (just for the various other SK references)
Popcorn action flick, 5-6/10. It's eminently forgettable afterwards, but interesting enough during the movie.

          That's disappointing.
I was waiting for that one.
But I haven't seen it yet so we'll see.

If I look at it sideways, through a bend in Maerlyn's rainbow, I can see it as a recreation of the gunslinger book 1, just with events/names from later books included. The whole ending battle based in the Dixie pig could have quite easily been Tull, just instead of using Sayer as the secondary villain, they could have used Sylvia Pittson instead.
            It's........... odd.

Well it's supposed to feel odd.
The whole series gives you that sense of odd-ness
