Neighbor with SG bumper stickers - should I approach??

Someone in (or near) my neighborhood drives an SUV with not one, but two Stargate bumper stickers! SG-1 logo on one side and the Earth symbol on the other. I sometimes see the car parked by a food truck park I visit to grab coffee in the mornings.

My question is: Would it be weird if I tried to find out who drove the car and ask them to be best friends because of their stickers? Discuss.

Casually bringing it up could be a good start, though i wouldn't expect too much of it.

Just tell them, "Hey cool sticker! Tek'ma'tey, my friend!"

Depending on how they respond, you could get a convo starting, or they might look at you funny and think you a bit weird and move on.

However using their stickers to strike up a general conversation with them, and letting that go from there potentially into a friendship, would be better..

Yeah do it! I have so few people irl to talk stargate I'm sure they would like it

Maybe the opening line would be "Nice stickers, are you a Stargate fan?". Because if the car is secondhand they may have inherited the stickers with the car & just left them there because they look nice, or they have not yet had time to remove them.
Then, depending on their answer, take it from there.

It's nice that this person has also a SG-1 sticker, you never know, i have a hat with the Earth symbol and lot of people asked me if i liked Assassin's Creed...
