Earlier this month, on July 1, we marked 150 years of Canada, and on July 4, the 241st anniversary of the independence of the United States of America, and on July 13, we paused to remember as one people the memory of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis guest actor and the man who is more known as the football quarterback Finn Hudson on Glee: Cory Monteith of Vancouver, BC, Canada, our Stargate City, whose body was found in a hotel within kilometers away from some series filming locations. Within a few days after, we remembered the 13th anniversary since the premiere of Stargate Atlantis.
Today, with great gladness we celebrate the 20th anniversary since the US premiere of Stargate SG-1, opening the doors for many years of extraterresial and space experiences for all of us today, a day that will never be forgotten and always remembered as the day the SG-1 team began its first of many memorable missions. Today, as we mark the 20th year since the era of Stargate on television began, as we remember those who have passed away in the years since it began, and remember those who remain among the cast and crew who became part of our lives and the long history of television, may we who recall these days look forward to remember and honor its place in our history for all time and the legacy it has left to us.
Now that the road has been reopened and a new era expected to begin for Stargate with a brand new online series, may this anniversary be the beginning of our return journey towards new adventures as we once more enter the Stargate that has been and will always be a part of our lives.
