Why the senator had to die? could they use the flying camera?

New to the series, but why did they have to send someone in instead of using the flying camera?

If I remember correctly, the control that operated the door was like a touch pad of some sort. The kino probably wouldn't register on it any more than a an eraser would register on a touch screen. And even if it did, I doubt they have enough control of the kino to perform the precise maneuvers to his all the proper buttons.

Especially since they iirc Discussed using the kino's in the ep, and said something to the effect of "WE ain't got enough time to jury rig that up.."
