Meaning of Life In Stargate

I'm working on a research project. Do you know of any references to the "meaning of life" in any of the Stargate series or movies? If so, which episodes or movies?

If Stargate has a "meaning of life", it's to ascend I guess

If I understand your question correctly,
there are allusions to meaning of life in

torment of tantalus (1-11)
The fifth race (2-16)

Any of the episode referring to Ascension also imply it. That being said, I think stargate doesn't really answer the meaning of life question and treats all the seemingly supernatural phenomena as science that we have not understood yet.

It does imply that many "enlightened" sentient beings aspire to ascend. This to me makes a goal or a meaning of life. To me I never understood why it was a good thing.

I know season 2 episode 15 The Fifth Race makes mention of "the meaning of life stuff" but I'm not sure how relevant it would be to your research project
