    The "Wrong" Companion

    G'day,

    In Planet of the Dead we see Lady Christina pair up with the Doctor, then at the end, ASK to join him in the TARDIS.

    10 declines her request, and so instead she steals the gravity-defying bus and flies off into the night.

    Imagine if she had in fact become the companion... Unlike most companions, she was an action seeking criminal looking for her next adrenalin hit... Where other companions urge consideration, she would have been pushing the Doctor into situations he perhaps shouldn't go near...

    I guess we ended up with a kind of similar scenario with Clara... but Christina was better... :}

    I rather liked her, and wouldn't mind her as a companion. But I don't know if the Doctor would do a long term pairing with a criminal. Of course, she could have sworn off her criminal habits, or the writers could have picked another occupation for her to begin with.

      I think the criminal aspect was "acceptable" given the way it was presented - ie only done for a challenge, no harming people (that we ever saw)... But I can imagine the media taking issue with it had she become a companion.

      Mind you, there's been worse... Turlough spent his first 3 stories trying to kill the Doctor after all...

                "action seeking criminal looking for his next adrenalin hit" sounds like a pretty good description of The Doctor..
