In other words, what episode actually has combat in a ship or on land as opposed to just space battles? Ive always wanted to see how the Cylons fight out of their ships.

Skimming through the list of episodes, I recall seeing ground combat in a number of episodes, particularly during the first half of Season 2. There are more though; some of note:
- 2.02 "Valley of Darkness" (aboard Galactica)
- 2.03 "Fragged" (on Kobol)
- 2.04 "Resistance" (on Caprica)
- 2.07 "Home, Part 2" (on Kobol)
- 3.04 "Exodus, Part 2" (on New Caprica)
- 3.12 "Rapture" (on the algae planet)
- 4.19-21 "Daybreak" (aboard Galactica and the Colony)
"Valley of Darkness" and "Daybreak" are probably the most 'intense' examples of ground combat in the series."A society grows great when old men plant trees, the shade of which they know they will never sit in. Good people do things for other people. That's it, the end." -- Penelope Wilton in Ricky Gervais's After Life

For TOS era, "The Gun on Ice Planet Zero" Pts. 1/2 would be a good example. The Cylons have a military outpost set up with a big gun and the colonials decide to raid the place and destroy the gun to let the fleet pass.
But you gotta remember, it was made in 1978, so the Cylons are just men in tin suits and it is painfully obvious.
