Default Sarcophagus healing - What happens to bullets, shrapnel?

Has there been anything in the show to indicate what the sarcophagus does to foreign objects embedded in the bodies its healing?

I just had a horrifying thought at what might happen if you place a guy full of bullets.. will they be disintegrated/pushed out somehow or will they remain as it does for many shooting victims?

They've never addressed that in the show. In my mind, someone needs to remove the bullets then the sarc can heal the body. Same with the healing device.

Since Sarcs were invented in a world of energy and not projectile weapons, they don't know how to handle bullets. My rationale anyway.
