I'm either really bad at making characters, or really good. I pretty much figure out how they see themselves and what's important to their personal identity and deepest desires or fears and later flesh out small and superficial stuff after that.
I'm always worried about balancing OC's when I write fanfiction. I don't want the new character to take over, but i don't want them to be useless and unnecessary to the story, either.
