Why didn't the Asgard ascend?

The nox seem to have as much of a non-interference policy as the ancients did, and maybe by the time the asguard realized they had the problem, the ancients were all long dead after returning from pegasys...

They didn't mind getting in the way of SG1's attempts to capture Apophis. I don't think The Nox had a "non-interference" policy as much as they were pacifist's. To that end, I think that if they were aware of the Asgard's problem and/or if the Asgard had asked for help The Nox could've helped them. They were able to revive people from the dead using their hands after all. Come to think of it, the only other race that could cure disease with their hands were the ancients. Irony? maybe?
