Hand/Ribbon Devices

Has anyone seen any costume/prop Ribbon Devices for sale? OR has anyone seen any craft tutorials on making one as a DIY-project? I reallyyyyyy want to cosplay as several System Lords in the future and I'd LOVE to have a believable Ribbon Device!! Any ideas?? Thanks

I don't know if there are any craft tutorials specifically for the ribbon device, but a general hand armour one could be adapted. You really only need the fingertips and the part over the palm/back of the hand..

As for materials, maybe a thermoplastic like Worbla would work?

It's thin and easy to shape. Heat it up and it becomes soft and pliable. Shape the thin strips around your fingertips and roll some of it into balls so you can sculpt it to make more detailed sections.

The best part is you don't have to get it right the first time. Just reheat it and try again
