Spoiler-What happened to the Dr. that sat back in "the chair" for the 2nd time?

I've been trying to not miss an episode. The first time the Dr. (not Rush) sat in the chair he pretty much was a vegetable awards. Then in the episode where they weren't going to have enough power to reach the next galaxy they had the crippled student of Rush's come aboard and Wray went back to earth. Then Destiny was attacked before they could make the power plant more efficient and this Dr. went back to the chair and saved the day. There was a guard outside of the room where "the chair" was and after they jumped to FTL they went inside and the Dr. was gone. Then in the next episode there was just a short blurb where two crew members said Colonel Young gave up the search for the Dr. Is that it???? Does he re-appear in any fashion? Becomes part of the ship?

That was Dr. Jeremy Franklin and he sat in the chair the first time in episode 10 "Justice" of season 1.
The paralyzed woman that visited Destiny in Sabotage (01x16) was Dr. Amanda Perry and she was a scientist and a colleague of Dr. Rush, not a student. What happened to Dr. Franklin then is and stayed up to the end Destiny's secret. It's not absolute clear, but he might've become a part of the ship.

Thanks ... didn't know if I missed something and seemed just a little weak as to explaining it.

He did. In S2's episode Aftermath, just after Rush finds the bridge, you see him interacting with 'franklin'..
