Trust me when I say I know exactly what you mean, and that would probably be the only flaw (elitism) that could be exploited to change the minds of even the most pious MAGA.

But the Dems can't play hardball (except the snake but she was rotten af) which is what would be needed to convince some MAGA's to jump left. A failed attempt to impeach him would only boast his martyr/man of the people image. We cannot be having that, the risks are too great.

I think his drop in the polls is due to his hugs and kisses, remember this is metoo era. That might be his undoing. I have yet to hear something bad about Bernie's past. Maybe he misbehaved in grade 2, who knows.

You're quite mistaken about that. Working people like myself are doing quite well under Trump. I've gotten a tax cut. My wages have risen as my employer is reacting to the drastically lower unemployment rate. (law of supply & demand, fewer workers looking for work, the price of labor goes up)
Many folks have been able to find jobs. Overall, the picture for the working class is better than it has been in decades. I could go on, but I would hope you get the point by now.

Yes, it's possible the economy could tank in the next year and a half. But if it doesn't, That alone is going to prompt a lot of working folks to vote their wallet, and re-elect Trump. And hopefully flip the House, too.

You can't consider only wages and say you're better off. Prices of goods and buying powers and wages are the three main indicator of a healthy economy.

The article you cite is talking about long term, periods of decades. And that much is true; wages have been flat for several decades. We've had several "jobless recoveries" over that time period. Businesses and wall street did well, but with no hiring, there was no upward pressure on wages. in many areas, wages fell quite a bit in terms of buying power.

Trump has changed that. Look at the past 2 years. The voters certainly will be.

This is not a unique USA problem though. I know for a fact my grocery bills have gone up at a higher rate than my salary.

It doesn't have to be exclusive to the US. Just the fact that there are more jobs available and wages are rising for the first time in decades is going to be a huge benefit to the current administration when it comes time to step into the voting booth.

And you can't rely on polling to get an accurate picture of support for Trump. Those on the left have shown a willingness to harass & attack Trump supporters in various ways, so many people who do support Trump just do so quietly in order to avoid harassment. The polls will miss these folks.
