Well the characters are not very origial but they are adequate. Of course the important thinng is how the actors will impersonate the characters , how the characters will evolve and, most importtant, what the story will be.

It's all in the execution. That promo looks pretty good, and Roger Cross is always a big plus. If the dialogue and story are well done I'll be along for the ride.

Mallozzi said that there are many sources of inspiration for Dark Matter but the most influential is the well known anime Cowboy Bebop

it's a source of inspiration not an adaptation. I suppose there were other sources too.

I'll pick 3, between 1.5-2 million. I won't be surprised if it's lower though. It will follow the third season premiere of Defiance, so whatever it gets, Dark Matter should be similar.
