December's Theme - One Last Time (The Hobbit) -> December 12 -18

Let's enjoy 'one last time' in Middle Earth celebrating the last of the Tolkien adaptations.
This month, it's the Hobbit. The culmination of almost 20 years of work and what promises to be one fantastic ride.

So pack your rucksack, don't forget your handkerchief and brush up on your Elvish. We're going to start this theme off with the UK premiere and end it with the US premiere (needless to say, no movie spoilers in here please)

Fell asleep during the first one, so can't say I'm a fan.

Read the book - does that count? Thought it was longwinded though.

But I do love the costumes, and plenty I would like to recreate.

Like my mom says, the movies are worth watching just for the gorgeous scenery.

Shockingly she went with me to see the first two....invited herself actually and I said 'you do know this has wizards and orcs and trolls and elves right???'

The Hobbit part I and Episode III of Star Wars have been the only films I have ever fallen asleep with - the first at home, the latter sadly at the cinema. And I'm always amazed one can actually fall asleep at the cinema considering the sound is so damn loud sometimes.

I have an aunt who never sees the end of any film -- I remember a viewing of Anna and the King where she poked me to ask how long this one character was on screen for already, which I informed her had been for the past half hour or so... yeah, she missed those minutes.

Well, since the desolation of smaug is on HBO, might as well get this party started
