    Star Trek: Axanar (fan film)

"Axanar" takes place 21 years before the events of “Where no Man Has Gone Before”. It is the story of Garth of Izar and his crew during the Four Years War, the war with the Klingon Empire that almost tore the Federation apart, and whose resolution solidified the Federation and allowed it to become the entity we know in Kirk's time.

"Prelude to Axanar" is a twenty-minute film(history documentary style) that will lead into, and act as a primer to, the feature length "Axanar".

Looks more interesting than JJ two films, through it a bit disappointing that all these fans films are essentially war films.

I have that one (Gods and Men) downloaded from YT on to my pendrive and I re-watch it occasionally....esp. the scene where there's a battle of superhuman powers between Gary Mitchell and Charlie

It turns out that these new JJ Abrams Star Trek Movies aren't as good as these Trek fan-made movies.

I'm sure many of you have seen in recent months that Paramount/CBS have sued to halt production of Axanar and seek damages for copyright infringement. I won't get into right and wrong, but suffice it to say there was a lot of concern about how the outcome of this lawsuit would affect future fan productions.

Well, not any more! At the Star Trek Beyond event tonight, JJ Abrams announced that he and Justin Lin have been pushing for Paramount/CBS to drop the lawsuit, and that an official announcement to that effect is likely to come out next week.

Not an official confirmation yet, but it's good vibes for sure.

Apparently...NOPE. Abrams just went off on his own to announce something that wasn't the case. The lawsuit continues.
