Chandler did arm the missiles that the Nathan James had....which made me wonder why they weren't used in the first place?

I think it was mentioned earlier on that damage to the James prevented the missile doors from being opened. I saw the graphic as something turned from red to green, but I don't think he could open the doors.

On the other hand, if the missiles had gone off in their silos upon collision, that might have made it so a DD could break the spine of a BB. An Arleigh Burke class DD displaces about 8,500 tons, while an Iowa class BB is closer to 50K tons, with a good chunk of the difference being armor plating. Without some sort of extra kick, I can't buy a DD ramming a BB and doing what they showed on the screen.
