SG-1 Jackets: Where to buy them?

I've been chasing down an SG-1 offworld jacked for the longest time.

The only thing I've found that comes even remotely close are the jackets from 'Children of the Gods'; the shiny material. Rather than buying an actual Air Force issue jacket, there's the option of buying one from Hello Cosplay or CosplaySky. CosplaySky's jacket is very show-accurate, but I've heard...not so good things about their craftsmanship. Hello Cosplay, on the other hand, is great when it comes to craftsmanship but their jacket is..not very show-accurate. But it comes with the patches whereas the one from CosplaySky doesn't.

To those of you who own SG-1 jackets, how did you obtain them? Did you make them yourself? Custom-made from a cosplay site?

Try ScifiHero.net or the Replica Prop Forum (RPF)... I got mine from someone at the RPF, patches not included (got those cheap from Ebay).

I've looked around RPF, but haven't perused ScifiHero yet. What kind of prices would I be looking at if I got them from someone on those sites?

I'm not entirely sure what I paid for it exactly but I think it was somewhere around 150$ (shipping included - custom made).

I know this is an extremely old post but just came across it. The jacket in question is a U.S. Navy G-8 WEPS jacket that was designed in the 1950s as part of cold weather suit that included matching trousers to be worn under the flight suit. When I was in VFA 151 in 1990-1992, the jackets were still in the supply system, but I don't know about now since I've been retired since 2005. Ryan at Stitche's Loft is a retired U.S. Navy Aircraft Survival Systems Specialist and would know much more about this and the tactical gear used on the show.

Yes, Stitch is still a good place these days.

I thought I heard that the offworld jackets were an existing military design, but they made new ones using the same ripstop fabric as the on-base jackets. The real ones look closer to windbreakers.
