Now... Even though there can be character associations, the show still centers around shepherd's team. Could there be more teams? or do the fan like being attached to fixed characters and get a feeling of betrayel when their fave character is missing from an episode?

I always thought atlantis might some day turn out to be like DS9. Atlantis could perhaps even become an intergalactic junction of sorts, where refugees, traders, diplomats and anyone else in the Pegasus galaxy could come. Like, they could have each pier of the city reserved for different groups.

Its hard to imagine SGA as DS9 or B5. Those other places had all sorts of aliens constantly coming and going, trading, gambling, etc. Atlantis is a military base, you just dont walk into the pentagon and set up a casino. The Genii or goa'uld could simply pretend to merchants and capture Atlantis if it were true.
