I'm torn between either one of them. But I do think she'd be better off with Daniel, only because I think she's learning more and more how to be an honorable person with him. She was with Tomin, too, but not as much and while she cared for Tomin, I don't think she loved him.

Tomin. Daniel is one of my favorite characters, and she isn't. I'm ok with them together, but not my first choice.

I'm torn too, but I have to lean towards Tomin. Standing alone, both Tomin & Vala are messes, where together they make each other better people.

I really enjoyed the Daniel/Vala chemistry, but I think their relationship is too one-sided. He's the adult, where she's the kid most of the time. Tomin & Vala's strengths & flaws compliment each other much better, imo.

^Exactly. She acts like an adolescent. It's only cute for about two episodes. I did appreciate the growth as she slowly matured during the last season, but still... not good enough for Daniel. Just my opinion, of course.

                Daniel

I have major issues with Tomin he hit her because he didn't like what she said not because he was in danger when Daniel hit her in PU they were fighting for control of the ship they were on equal terms. She was his prisoner and he hit her after they were married so a million times Daniel and everyone is equal let's get that straight she doesn't have to be "good enough" for Daniel

I don't like Tomin either. He'd betray her in a heartbeat!

                    I totally agree.

And I said Daniel as well, on the basis of their relationship in Unending, but Tomin hitting her would be enough of a reason to rule him out.

I admit I did wince at that hit.

It's not about being equal, it's about Daniel constantly correcting Vala. In a lot of ways Vala & Tomin are alike. They both lived the bulk of their lives in a crappy way because of false gods.

To me, the disparity between Daniel & Vala is even greater than Jack & Sam, even though Jack is actually Sam's boss. Sam has a great deal of respect for Jack's achievements as a decorated USAF General, and he has a great respect for her military service and mind. They both talk to each other like a child on the odd occasion, but Daniel speaks to Vala like a child on a regular basis. It's a cute dynamic, but it wouldn't be so cute if they were lovers too, imo.

For the entirety of Vala and Tomin's relationship, she had to suppress herself. She had to be who and what was expected of her. There's no true relationship there.

Daniel accepted Vala. Called her on her baloney and encouraged - not demanded - she be more. Likewise, Vala shook Daniel out of his "nothing can touch me" mind frame.

She tried to get Tomin to see more than the propaganda of Origin and he chose not to.
