What would other countries name their ships?

In the show only three countries are shown to have Daedalus class ships (USA, Russia and China) and their names are reflective of their countries. So i was wondering, if other countries had ships what would they call them? Would the Australian one be called the Crocodile Dundee for example?

P.S. yes I'm from Australia and frankly id be surprised if our ship name [U]Wasn't[U] a massive stereotype of some kind.

How about the Waltzing Matilda as an Aussie ship?

That could work, or maybe the Southern Cross?

I prefer those two to Crocodile Dundee No offense to Paul Hogan...but how about some aboriginal mythological hero to keep the myth references?

Seems stupid but the Neil Robertson ship could work. (Neil is an australian snooker player, very good one) I thought that this is a good name because it exists, well, existed the O'Neill ship, so i can't be the Neil ship.

a British ship would probably wind up being called the Churchill. Or Duke of Wellington. Or Hood, since that's a popular British ship name.

Another name for the Australian ship could be the Endeavour (the name of the ship that Cook commanded when he discovered Australia). i wonder if countries would be more likely to name their ships after famous people or mythological figures?

Famous people i think. The problem with mythology is that a lot of it is shared (IE, classic Greek and Roman Mythology).

                EDIT:

i looked up names for Dutch ships and the naming varies wildly.

                -names of the royal family
                -names of greek mythology
                -names of animals
                -names of famous people
                -names of locations
                -names of provinces

in english the dutch prefix is: HNLMS (Her/His Netherland Majesty's Ship)

I'd expect one of the following for a Brit ship:

                  HMS Trafalgar (famous Naval battle)
                  HMS Valiant
                  HMS Churchill
                  HMS Vanguard

                  Personally, I'd quite like

                  HMS Excalibur

                  or

                  HMS Spitfire

For a British vessel my suggestions are...

HMS Ark Royal ( Well the 304's do carry F-302's)
                    HMS Invincible
                    HMS Illustrious
                    HMS Royal Oak
"What do you mean by 'Oopps'?"

I think the Australian ship might be named HMAS 'Hammersley' ( I did see a couple of Sea Patrol episodes )

I know the Russians had the 'Korolev' (SP?)
But they might name any replacements after famous Cosmonauts...

                        The Alexi Leonov
                        The Yuri Gagarin

Why couldn't we name all the ships "Starhsip Enterprise"? We could say: Here is enterprise 1! "We are waiting for Enterprise 3 to arrive."
