Hive ship carrying 3 cruisers underneath

I just re-watched "Letters from Pegasus" and when Shepperd and Taylor are waiting in a jumper for the wraith ships to drop out of hyperspace, I noticed that 3 cruisers detached from underneath. I never seen this before, do you ever see it later on in the series?

No. This shot was apparently one-off early CGI of the hive ship that was never used again. If you watch the scene closely you'll see the hive itself looks way different than usual to.

I always figured that the fact that the cruisers and hive ships all split into alliances, meant that the cruisers would have to patrol their territory and would not be attached to the hives.

Yes. The Cruisers were really very underused IMO. In reality they would have been the main attack force for Wraiths so they wouldn't endanger the Hves as much as they did in the show.

I also felt that was an overlooked aspect of the wraith ships from the end of S1 onward..
