I knew they didn't mean it when the ads said "one of their own will die". Although I guess that depends on who "their" means. Could have been Snow and Charming's circle of family. Or Regina's.

Having now seen Cora's backstory, I find that I still don't have any sympathy for her.

For a few moments there, I thought it was going to be revealed that Regina was Rumple's daughter. Wouldn't that have made a fine kettle of fish?

It will be interesting to see how Snow deals with what she's done and how to justify it to herself. Personally, I think that even though she has the purest, most forgiving heart (as David said), she's just finding out there are more sides to herself than she would have ever thought.

I love that Emma has now experienced doing magic herself. Wonder how far she'll let it go.

I also think we can be pretty sure Henry will never go back to Regina after all of this.

      great ep!!

i must admit, i totally cheated and read twitter, so i knew some things that were going to happen, namely who was going to die.

~rose did a good job of imitating barbara hershey/cora!

~i didn't feel the 'love' between young cora and rumple.

~i can't place where i know the king that cora wanted to kill. he seems so familiar...

~i'm glad snow did what she did. but i know it's going to hurt her deeply with guilt.

      ~tricking regina. ah oh...

~i felt sorry for regina! but some of it she deserves.

~good scenes with rumple and belle and rumple and his son.

~cora deserved what she got. she *chose* to be evil.

~now regina wants to kill snow *real* bad!

~i wanted a regina-cora showdown... i guess this worked too.

a really good ep, with solid writing and acting. well done!

He was in "Clear & Present Danger" with Harrison Ford many years ago, as the bad buy. And he's recently been a guest on another series or two.

            Damn.

While I thoroughly enjoyed the episode (although Snow is kind of getting annoying), they showed that

            - Cora wasn't Snow's mother's sister
            - Regina wasn't Rumpelstiltskin's daughter.

            which I was betting on!

I really enjoyed this episode. I even got teary when Rumple was on the phone with Bell, it was nice to see him and his son be a family for a moment. No sympathy at all for Cora, she's always been a "witch". I did feel for Regina when she thought she might finally get a chance to have a real mother. Snow is in for a heap of trouble, hopefully some one can get Regina to see how awful her mom was and what she had planned to do....

                Where the hell is August!?

that's the only thing i think can stop regina's revenge. i don't even know if henry can stop her.

the thing is, even if what snow did was mean to regina, regina isn't exactly innocent in the manipulation thing herself, so...

it's not that regina deserved this (her mother is dead!!), it's just that she's not innocent of this type of abuse.

it'll be interesting to see how this turns out.

Honestly, I was thinking that Snow's mom would be Rump and Cora's child, and Cora's firstborn, so he took the baby, she eventually married the king, Snow was born, Emma was born...

It would have been some serious planning on his part, but we know he can see the future at least some of the time, so I could have seen it happening like that. He and Cora making that deal specifically so that he could eventually create the curse and get Bae back...

But it seems that isn't the case either, so...

I may be mistaken, but in the scene where the Princess tripped Cora and made her spill flour all over the place, the King said she was Princess Eva (visiting from another kingdom). Princess Eva was Snow's mother. She wasn't very nice at that age, even if she became wonderful, sweet, kind, Queen Eva.

Even though it wasn't very nice of her, it didn't seem to me worthy of Cora's hatred toward Eva, enough to kill her later when she was the Queen.

i agree. and just like i didn't see the 'love' between cora and rumple.

but i think it's b/c there wasn't enough time to really set these things up.

i think seeing cora talking to her drunken dad, it was supposed to show cora's dissatisfaction with her life and commonness, and maybe princess eva was just the final straw of indignities for her.

                          i really enjoyed this ep.

I have to add that Rose McGowan was extremely well cast and played the role brilliantly.

I think you're right. It was mostly just what I was thinking based on promos lol.

I think it's one of those things where we all have choices...Snow's mom chose to be good, Cora chose to be bad.

And I also have to agree that Rose was a wonderful Cora. I knew it was Rose, and the voice told me it was Rose, but the whole time I kept thinking how they must have just used technology to deage the Cora we know lol. That's how good a job Rose did, and the casting did, in my opinion.
