It's time to nominate your favorite episodes, character moments, and more from the first year of Stargate Universe!

Please read these notes before you nominate.

For the Best Stargate Crossover category, please nominate the actor and the specific episode. Any SG-1 or Atlantis cast member or recurring guest star is eligible in this category. Note that those shows' main cast members are not eligible in the Best Guest Star category.

SGU is a different kind of show, so that means some different categories for the Rewatch awards, including:

Best Supporting Character: This should be one of the show's recurring characters -- not on the main cast, but not a one-off guest star. Think Riley, James, Volker, Brody, etc. (Note that these actors are still eligible in the "Best Guest Star" category.)

Coolest Technology: Ancient, human, or alien.

Best Adversary: What you see on SGU aren't necessarily "villains," so let's go with "adversarial."

We'll take nominations in this thread for the first half of the month, and then unveil the award ballot for voting on the GateWorld home page the second half of the month. At the end of November, we'll announce the winners to wrap up this season of the Stargate fan community Rewatch project.

There's a poll above for the first category, Best Episode. You may vote for up to THREE episodes. (If you vote for any more, we'll have to disqualify all your votes.) You must use the poll for your "Best Episode" nominations to be counted (don't just post them below). Remember, this is just the nomination stage. The top vote-getters will square off in the official poll.

For all other categories, just post below. Two rules:

Please specify the episode! ("That one where McKay says 'Oh, come on!'" won't be counted.)

One nomination per category per person, please! So think about it, watch some episodes, and come back and post. (If we detect fake "sock" accounts stuffing the nominations box, ALL your noms will be disqualified.)

The final ballot will include those with the most nominations, so don't skip over something because someone else already posted it. Nominate what you think is the best of the best!

Man, this is bringing back my rage at SGU's cancellation. The abuse this show received, especially from so called die hard Stargate fans, was criminal. Yes, it took awhile to hit it's stride, but for me it was a welcome change of pace right from the start. After 15 seasons of going through the gate, getting into trouble and then getting out of it, it was time for something new, and SGU delivered. And now for some nominations...

• Best Episode: Time

• Best Rush Moment: In Human, reliving his memories of his dying wife, desperate to find the key to unlocking Destiny.

• Best Young Moment: In Justice, while framed for murder, he relinquishes command of the Destiny before ultimately confront Rush 1 on 1.

• Best Scott Moment: In Air (3), leading our team* through the gate for the first time in search of a mineral needed to fix Destiny's life support.

• Best TJ Moment: In Undivided, performing surgery on Dr. Rush.

• Best Eli Moment: In Air (1), his first introduction to the Stargate program, trying to fool Jack O'Neill, and scrambling for his cellphone once transported into orbit.

• Best Chloe Moment: In Earth, metaphorically ripping Eli's heart out of his chest and showing it to him by telling him what a great friend he is :-p

• Best Wray Moment: Wray got on my nerves, and nothing pops into my mind as a real standout moment for her.

• Best Telford Moment: In Earth, when he enacted his foolhardy plan to gate home. Generally i found Telford to be an *******. Of course, he wasn't exactly himself at any point up until the finale.

• Best Supporting Character: Julia Benson as Lt. James = Meow ;-)

• Coolest Technology: In Faith, the Genesis Device.

• Best Adversary: The countdown clock...? :-D

• Best Stargate Crossover: In Subversion, RDA as Jack O'Neil, particularly the line "I know what makes me special".

• Best Guest Star: In Sabotage, Kathleen Munroe as Amanda Perry

Time

Best Nicholas Rush Moment
Rush sitting in the ship's control interface chair, where in a lucid dream he is forced to relive his wife's slow death from cancer. ("Human")

Best Everett Young Moment
Young temporarily cedes command of the ship after he is suspected of murdering a crewmember, only to learn that Rush framed him. He attacks Rush on a barren planet, leaving him behind. ("Justice")

Best Matthew Scott Moment
When he leads an expedition to an unnamed world in the hopes of bringing back supplies to fix the ship's life support. In the process he is forced to face demons from his past. ("Air, Part 3")

Best Chloe Armstrong Moment
Infected with an alien tick, Chloe hallucinates her father -- and, though she knows he isn't really there, has a heart-to-heart conversation that gives her the chance to truly say goodbye. ("Pain")

Best Eli Wallace Moment
Using the communication stones, Eli visits his mother on Earth -- but does not tell her who he really is. ("Earth")

Best T.J. Johansen Moment
The team finds a peaceful planet rich in natural resources, and T.J. attempts to stay behind -- for the sake of her baby, revealing to a few close friends that she is pregnant. But Colonel Young forces her to return to the ship. ("Faith")

Best Ronald Greer Moment
Left behind on a planet after Lt. Scott believed Ron was killed in a cave-in, he recalls his rocky relationship with his war vet father. ("Lost")

Best Camille Wray Moment
Camille using the Ancient communication stones to trade bodies with someone back on Earth, giving her a chance to visit home and see her partner and her parents again. ("Life")

Best David Telford Moment
Young suffocates and revives Telford (in Rush's body) to break him of Lucian Alliance brainwashing. When Rush gates to Destiny in Telford's body, their connection is broken and Telford returns to his own body -- convincing the Alliance he is still on their side. ("Incursion, Part 1")

Suffering from caffeine and nicotine withdrawl he becomes “a different kind of crazy,” getting more frustrated and angry at not being able to stop Destiny’s systems shutting down due to a total loss of power. (Darkness)

Best Everett Young Moment
Standing up to Kiva and her thugs, defiantly facing the threat of imminent death with unflinching bravery. (Incursion pt 2)

Best Matthew Scott Moment
Finding the life saving lime for Destiny’s life support system after persevering despite dehydration and heat exhaustion in the continuing belief he would find it. (Air pt 3)

Best T.J. Johansen Moment
Standing up to Colonel Telford who was pushing Colonel Young’s injured body too far when he was using it, knocking him out with anesthetic instead of giving pain relief. (Air pt 3)

Best Eli Wallace Moment
Looking into the Kino with a look of total disbelief whilst recording the discussion about someone having to give up their life to save all on board by closing the damaged shuttle door, when Rush suggested that it should be someone who didn’t have skills necessary for survival. (Air pt 2)

Best Chloe Armstrong Moment
Eloquently defending Colonel Young at the hearing to determine whether he was responsible for the murder of a crew member. (Justice)

Best Camille Wray Moment
Volunteering to swap bodies with the quadriplegic Dr Perry and stoically facing the challenges that it entailed. (Sabotage)

Best David Telford Moment
Having been brainwashed by the Lucian Alliance he berates Colonel Young and General O’Neill for humanity’s arrogance for thinking they are the answer to the galaxy’s problems. (Subversion)

Best Ronald Greer Moment
Showing no fear he grabs and bites into the alien fruit TJ had just picked and was ready to go and test to see if it was safe to eat. (Faith)

Best Nicholas Rush Moment: Trapped on a Lucian Alliance ship, Rush in Telford's body is tortured and abused by Kiva; a reversal from his usual confident, almost condescending role on Destiny. ("Subversion")
Best Everett Young Moment: Confronted with a resilient Telford, Young tries to get information out of him both going the violent route and reminiscing the good times they had together, all while he tries not to lose his cool. ("Subversion")
Best Matthew Scott Moment: On a trip to Earth, he meets up with his long lost wife and discovers he has a son. Intrigued by this new discovery, he tries to support his son by giving him a payment and reassuring him of his status but his wife rejects him, telling him he needs a stable father ("Life")
Best T.J. Johansen Moment: Faced with the various lives of the injured, TJ puts on her scrubs and tries arm and knee to save every person she can. ("Sabotage")
Best Eli Wallace Moment: A compassionate Eli carries a injured Chloe throughout the ship, despite the constant threat of Death and Eli's willingness himself. ("Incursion (Part 2)")
Best Chloe Armstrong Moment: When Chloe faces a hallucination with his father, he gets the chance to spend the time she never had with her father and is unwilling to give up that time when Eli confronts her. ("Pain")
Best Camille Wray Moment: Confronted with a hallucinating Greer, Wray tries to appeal to her better sense despite the fact that she is scared out of her mind and gravely injured. ("Pain")
Best David Telford Moment: Telford is brought upon the Destiny after many episodes. ("Incursion (Part 2)")

Best Young Moment: Space Part 2, when he rescues Rush even though this is going to do serious damage to his rock slide story.

Best Scott Moment: Time, when he's leaving the message on how they can save themselves.

Best TJ Moment: Darkness, her compassion when she's telling Rush that caffeine and nicotine withdrawal caused his breakdown.

Best Eli Moment: Light, his confidence in being "math boy."

Best Chloe Moment: Lost, she decodes the tunnel map.

Best Wray Moment: Divided when she orders Rush to stop the transfer.

Best Telford Moment: I'm skipping this one.

Best Supporting Character: Volker.

Coolest Technology: I want to say the pretty pretty FTL but I'm not sure that's eligible so my backup cool technology is the handy Kino which saved their ass many a time.

Best Adversary: Air Part 3 General O'Neill with his testy unhelpful speech about how "none of us are qualified." (But they were usually way better equipped, and they had support that wasn't just vocal.) He almost looked bored by the whole problem. "Figure it out! And get off my lawn!" (Yeah I know that nomination won't be popular ... heh.)

Best Stargate Crossover: Air Part 1, Daniel Jackson's Stargate videos.

Best Guest Star: Sabotage, Kathleen Munroe as Amanda Perry

Best Ronald Greer Moment: Air Part 3 When he yells at Scott to get him back on his feet and moving. He would also be my first choice if there was a category called "person I'd want to have my back in a bad situation."

In "Darkness", when he talked nonsense and collapsed due to exhaustion and lack of sleep.

In "Space", he switched bodies with an alien.

In "Faith", Matt decided to stay on the planet, so he could take care of TJ and the baby.

Best T.J. Johansen Moment
In "Incursion" pt 2, although tired, TJ still looked after the wounded, enemy or not.

In "Air" pt 3, Greer goes back for Scott and helps to get the lime to the ship.

When a group of people want to stay behind on Eden, Scott offers to stay with them for their own protection. (Faith)
