Thank you. I worked really hard on that aspect. I was very self-conscious...never having written fan fiction...and hearing the MarySue horror stories. : ) I tried to make Emily as real of a character as I could. I learned so much from writing her. I learned to step outside of myself.
My original novel is about 75% complete now and it's getting very exciting as I near the end. I've got plans in the works for a series of sequels now, in fact.
I'm currently drafting and revising simultaneously.
I belong to a very active and prolific writer's group that's been giving me lots of encouragement and constructive criticism. It's a very talented and articulate group, so their opinions weigh heavily on my decision making process as I revise. Many of the members have commented they are excited to read more, so I believe that bodes very well indeed. : )
