    Stargate Based Audio Theater

Hey all, longer time member, not often on here much anymore than the SG franchise is on ice for the most part (though color me ignorant if its still vibrant in some places since I've not really been around).

So I was wondering if anyone would be interested in listening to a Stargate based audio theater? Audio theater's are like radio dramas. "With no visual component, radio drama depends on dialogue, music and sound effects to help the listener imagine the characters and story. (WIKIPEDIA)" Basically, with the audio theaters I've done in the past, I did pretty much everything: I wrote the story, created the original soundtrack, created the fx by hand, cast the characters and then produced the entire thing. It took 22 months, basically like making a movie (minus visuals).

So here is my basic concept. I'd like the story to be in the SG universe but not involve really any of the prominent characters since I'd prob not be able to ever get them to lend their voices. So I was thinking it'd be set sometime in the near future, like 2016. The program's gone public and the UN has begun to take control of all space and stargate related programs and projects. Atlantis is still classified, as is the destiny program. There would be several characters from several different agencies that each shorter story would revolve around, so like, maybe a doctor in xenobiology talking about becoming hired by the SGC (Now controlled by UN, not US solely), or perhaps (the one that sparked it for me) an UN Intelligence analyst describing how the Tau'ri have to play catch up to understand the players at the level needed. I dunno...

I'd need a ton of help making it.... but would like to act mainly as the co-writer, director and maybe a voice actor.

I did this Audio Theater last year (Sol's Equinox):

So anyway, I seriously think this could be really cool. I've seen lots of these fan fic projects explode really quickly and they're great and then they die. Perhaps because reading isn't the same. Maybe people need some more immersion. I don't really know when I'd be able to break ground on this, so mostly I'm just trying to get some feedback on ideas for stories, see what others could contribute and so on.

Does any of this seem interesting, or am I just shooting in the dark?

    Thanks!

Well... I imagine people loose interest in fanfics mainly because other things draw their attention, I admit they're good but I don't know of anybody who's determined enough to finish their own story. I'll admit, people do see visuals and sound more interesting then the words themselves, which is why there's a big push towards reading since actually thinking about the stuff read stimulates the imagination.

In any case, since I'm the first person posting in this thread; I might be interested in doing a bit of voice acting. (despite my voice and the positions where my voice could be considered acceptable.) I do produce music but I'm not experienced enough to be able to produce a soundtrack with layers and textures or even something similar to SG-1's soundtrack.

If this thing gets off the ground, I might be interested.
    Back from the grave.

Thanks Zombies. I'm just trying to gauge interest. I know I can't produce this thing along, but I like the concept of short stories.

On a related night. I was thinking maybe each "episode" could be written by different people in more of a short story style. I dunno. Just a thought. Just trying to see if anyone would be willing to pool time and resources on this project. So thanks for replying with your interest! I appreciate it.

So I guess no serious interest in this. Well, one day I will make it, but not for a while then.
