Attempting to create a larger audience for a show that is out of production is an exercise in futility. A new series will not ease the difficulty in bringing SGU back into production. Resuming production of SGU instead of a new series is fraught with overlooked issues. SGU thoroughly polarized the fan base of the franchise into opposing camps. One camp loved SGU, while the other despised it, holding it accountable for the shuttering of SGA.

You dream of fighting the good fight, and returning SGU to production. That's commendable, but you're beating your head against a brick wall. SGU is gone. All we can hope for is the SG franchise in a different iteration.

      And a 6 month season break doesn't?

But why? The reason it was cancelled was that it couldn't generate profit. A larger audience means more potential profit. If an awareness campaign is aimed at the right audience - the audience that SGU wasn't advertised enough to - there could be more potential viewers than there were for either of the other SG series'. SGU already had the potential to be bigger than both, it just wasn't advertised enough or to the right people.

As I said, the return is much more heavily advertised after a season break.

Profit in that industry comes from advertising to a large degree, and advertising is sold based on ratings. The lack of advertising bit is false. SGU had the benefit of a wide and prolonged advertising campaign globally. Once again, you're making claims that are not supported by historical fact.

The show was cancelled two Decembers ago. For God's sake, let it go.
This does not help the franchise at all when the fans call for a show in our franchise that cost TPTW frakin tons of money.

I agree, the future for SG is not bringing back SGU. It is some other direction. Sorry, but you cannot always get what you want. For the good of the franchise, give it up.

                Okay.

I will hold my hands up and say it: SGU failed the first time round. It was really starting to pick up in the second half of S2. The haters who had stuck with it started to like it. But, by then, it was too late.

But Stargate Universe was something new, something amazing. I genuinely believe, had it been given one more season, it could've picked up.

I'm willing to fight to give it that chance. People will hate me for it, yeah. It might not work. And it will be really damn hard to do. But there is a chance - however small, there is still a chance. And I'll work for that, foolish as it may seem.

Please, either support this, or continue to hate all that SGU is. I'll fight for it either way.

Hello, are you not listening? You are actually shooting your own foot. Until this debacle that was the insane loss of money, that was SGU is forgotten. They are not likely to give us ANY SG. You love the franchise or just want your show back? You are NEVER going to get it.

SGU=Massive of amounts of lost money.

Get It? What exec in their right mind would ever try to bring it back? Answer is NONE. Sorry, but this is really annoying to me that a very few SGU fans keep bringing this up, instead of allowing the franchise to heal and give us a mother frakin chance to ever get another SG of any kind.

                    Guys

NONE of the old shows will come back. SG1 is done and over. SGA is done and over, SG Infinity is done and over, SGU is done and over. NONE of them will ever be back.

If the franchise comes back, it'll be redone and rebooted and the most any fan will get is cameos by original actors and characters. (ala star trek)

If a person wants to support the FRANCHISE, then please do so. But SGU, like all its predecessors is done and over. The actors have moved on, the writers have moved on, the sets are struck and sold off.

Supporting the franchise is something everyone can get behind. Trying to resurrect a show that was cancelled due to low ratings....sure, go for it, but you probably stand a better chance of winning the lotto jackpot than you do bringing any singular show of this franchise back.
