    What are you using to judge the basis of technology during Galactica?

    If you're using Galactica (the ship) then you'd be assuming wrong, because the ship was designed to be less advanced in order to help combat the Cylons. We saw how well the most advanced ships of the time were easily dispatched during the attack on the Colonies.

      I remember the computerised devices in the pilot being quite large where as in caprica it can all some how fit in a a single sheet of octagonal paper
