    Default My Lost Journey

Since I haven't seen all Lost episodes(besides complete Season 1 and Season 2), I decided to start from the beginning and watch the rest on Internet. Next week I intend to post my first review based on "Pilot Part 1". I hope someone will watch my progress(maneth from Farscape gave me the idea).

I'll certainly be keeping an eye on this thread, since I just started watching Lost myself. I just started Season 3. It's a fantastic show.

Pilot Part 1:An epic beginner to an epic series.
    Best character of ep:Jack.
    Worst character of ep:Kate.
Review: This series feels really like something big. There should be more plane-crash series, but NO it's always just movies. The only parts I didn't like was Charlie's high-pitched singing and the dead pilot. Really well-done episode and it looks almost realistic. The story was slightly creepy, but in a good way. Jack makes a great protagonist. The others are interesting characters as well.

Primary Storyline:Oceanic Flight 815 crashes to an unknown island. A doctor named Jack unofficially takes command of the survivors and goes to find the cockpit in the jungle with the assistance of his new friend Kate and a dizzy singer named Charlie. They soon confront a mysterious entity on the Island and barely escape with their lives. "The Monster" has the power to rip up trees and makes mechanical noises. The trio find the pilot who tells them they were a 1000 miles off course and that the rescuers are looking from the wrong place. The pilot is shortly later killed by the Monster. Fortunately, Jack still retrieves the damaged transceiver. The trio are then on the run from the Monster and Jack disappears for a while, but later comes back. They find the pilot's corpse.
Secondary storyline: Shortly before the crash, Jack got acquainted with an afro-american named Rose(she is later saved by Jack with CPR).
Creepiest thing in the episode:The corpse of the pilot.
    Coolest thing in the episode:Jack.

Pilot Part 2:An epic second part of a great beginner.
    Best character of ep: Sawyer.
    Worst character of ep: Shannon.
Review: This episode is even better than the first one and welcomes Sawyer, Sayid and Hurley as main cast. Sawyer is currently my favourite southern guy who is very good at making me grin. I don't like the snobbish "I'll eat on the rescue boat" Shannon though. Anyway, the episode is very well done, besides a few errors, but is a worthy Lost episode.

Primary Storyline:Walt, a black guy's son finds a pair of handcuffs. The beach goes into turmoil, but after the trio return, Sayid(a military mechanic from the Republican Guard) makes minor repairs to the transceiver and and a new team is formed. Kate, a smoker, Sayid, a guy named Boone and his snobbish sister and of course Charlie go into the jungle mountains to pick up something. Meanwhile, Jack struggles to save a guy with a piece of shrapnel while Kate is unusually worried about him. In the jungle, Smoker kills a polar bear using the gun of a US Marshal who was escorting a fugitive on the plane. Smoker's gun gets split into two pieces now in Sayid and Smoker's possession. Then the shrapnel guy on the beach(the US Marshal) wakes up and starts demanding the location of "she". Finally, the team arrive at the mountains and pick up a French transmission. A distress signal(Shannon translates) saying "It killed them. It killed them all. I am alone now..." The creepy transmission has been on a loop for 16 years. Charlie finally asks the big question:"Where are we?"
Secondary Storyline:On the Oceanic Flight 815, slight turbulence has started. Unfortunately, Charlie starts going through a drug withdrawal(he's an addict) and goes into the bathroom while the seatbelts sign goes on. He takes his fill and then the plane crashes. He apparently fell out of the bathroom during the fall cos the bathroom was in the cockpit of the plane. It also saved his life(he was sitting in the tail section of the plane which didn't make it to the beach). Meanwhile, Kate who is sitting handcuffed next to the US Marshal gets a little drink. The turbulence starts and the Marshal is knocked out by some heavy bags. Kate quickly releases herself from the handcuffs and the plane crashes.
Creepiest thing in the episode:The French transmission.
Coolest thing in the episode: Smoker shooting the polar bear fearlessly.

Tabula Rasa: The end of the Pilot arc.
Best character of ep: Hurley/US Marshal.
    Worst character of ep: Sawyer(smoker)
Review:The episode wasn't as good as the Pilot ones. It was more of an "explanation" than an "adventure" episode. Anyway, I like Hurley's development into this "Oh god what now" character and assistant to Jack. Sawyer is not so good here, though his inner side can be seen in this ep. Kate is a runner as usual. Charlie is a drug addict!! Big news to me.

Primary Storyline: After the return of the "heroes", Jack and his assistant Hurley are told by the US Marshal that Kate is a fugitive. The US Marshal's condition is deteriorating fast and the antibiotics aren't helping. Meanwhile, Walt(Black's son) starts spending more time with the mysterious Mr Locke, who tells him a secret(not shown onscreen). Mr Locke proves to be friendlier than Black guessed and brings Walt his dog back and gives it to Black. Meanwhile, Kate is attacked by the Marshal who pleads to be euthanised. Kate is manipulated by Sawyer to accept and asks Sawyer to do it. Sawyer somehow misses and the Marshal becomes a great deal worse. Jack ends the life of the poor fellow and Kate's status is not revealed to anyone.
Secondary Storyline: Kate avoids the police and ends up in Ray Mullen's farm. She stays at Mullen's farm for three months. Ray has big money problems and gives Kate up to the police. During Kate's "ride to the trail station", Kate hijacks Mullen's car and ends up in a car crash. The car is busted but Kate saves Ray's life at the cost of getting captured by the US Marshal. On Flight 815, Kate is about to ask the Marshal to make sure Ray Mullen gets his 23 grand, but before she can, a bag falls on the US Marshal and knocks him out. Then the plane hits turbulence and crashes to the Island.
Coolest thing in the episode: Jack telling Kate that he's not a murderer.
Creepiest thing in the episode: Poor US Marshal.

Walkabout:The survivors start focusing on survival and need a hunter to do help 'em.
Best character of ep:"Colonel" John Locke.
    Worst character of ep:Randy.
A great new episode. John is becoming a very fascinating character and in my opinion, better suited to lead the survivors than Jack is, especially when Super-Doc starts hallucinating. He has replaced Sawyer as the coolest. Jack's more of the medical than the leader. Anyway, the episode was fine, better than Tabula Rasa. I really wonder what happened to Locke and the Monster out there.
Primary Storyline:The food runs out and after everyone find out there are boars on the Island, Locke decides to go hunting. He has a suitcase full of knives and he's ready. Black(real name is Michael), Kate as always and Locke go into the jungle. Kate's reason for being there is to attach an antenna to a tree from Sayid who is trying to locate the power source of the French transmission. The hunt goes awry at the start when Michael gets scratched badly and Kate takes him back to the beach and witnesses the Monster heading toward Locke. After the two return, Jack starts hallucinating a guy in a suit and tries to follow the hallucination. Locke confronts the Monster and later comes back with a boar. Meanwhile the survivors find that the bodies are rotting so the fuselage becomes a furnace and everyone get burnt in a memorial service. Oh, and Charlie is a drug addict. Shannon is snobbish as always.
Secondary Storyline:Locke is an unhappy man. He is confined to a wheelchair, dreaming about walkabouts while getting bullied by his boss, Randy. He's a customer of some women company, but ends when Helen(the phone woman) reveals that she thinks John is just a customer. In the end, Locke decides to go to a walkabout alone, but the evil guy from the company does not allow it cos Locke is in a wheelchair. Locke is left behind yelling "DO NOT TELL ME WHAT I CAN'T DO, EVER!!". After crashing to the Island, Locke discovers that he can walk again and shortly goes to help Jack save survivors.
Creepiest thing in the episode: Drug addict Charlie.
Coolest thing in the episode:Locke yelling at the evil guy.

Well, I actually write both at the same time. I review AND make episode synopses. The reviews are short so far, but they will gradually become longer. It's just there isn't SO much to review... yet.

White Rabbit: An episode dealing with Jack's heroism.
    Best character of ep: Jack.
    Worst character of ep: Boone.
Review: This is currently my favourite episode so far, I really liked Jack's adventure and Locke is mysterious as always. Personally, I agree with Charlie and the others on the fact that Boone is really starting to become suspicious. As for Jack's dad, I liked him cos he was just great. Very good actor, too. I would like to know if his death was somehow cured by the Island as Locke was or if it was just a hallucination. Jack is kind of more erratic as time goes on. Creepy dolls. Nice speech.
Primary Storyline: A background character who was never seen(I think) and who's name was Joanna drowned. Boone blames himself and Jack who rescued Boone who was trying to rescue Joanna. While Super-Doc starts to really doubt his ability to be a leader, his hallucinations of the suit guy continue(he appeared in "Walkabout") and he starts hunting it, discovering it to be his dead father. Meanwhile, on the beach, the remaining 13 bottles of water is stolen by Boone who later gives a totally bad excuse and the Boldy Hunter goes into the jungle to get more water for Claire(a pregnant girl) who fainted. Eventually, Locke saves Jack and gives him some good advice(invaluable as always). Jack discovers some caves and an unlimited supply of water and also his father's coffin. He unlocks the coffin, but the corpse has vanished. Jack returns to the beach and omitting his incident with his dad, tells them about his adventures.
Secondary Storyline: As a young kid, Jack tries to rescue Marc Silverman, but fails because he is a much smaller kid. His father interprets it as Jack attempting to be a hero. He tries to explain to Jack that unlike his father, Jack doesn't have what it takes to be a hero, because heroes need to be cold-blooded. Many years later, it appears that Jack's father has deteriorated into a lonely alcoholic and Jack goes to retrieve him from Australia. In Sydney, Jack finds his father dead from a heart attack and later demands to be allowed to take his father's coffin to Flight 815. After much pleading, his pleads are accepted, but the plane crashes.
Creepiest thing in the episode: Super-Dad's "ghost".
Coolest thing in the episode: Jack's speech.

The House of the Rising Sun: More insight into the boring Korean duo.
    Best character of ep: Locke.
Worst character of ep: Mr. Paik.
Review:The Flashbacks weren't really interesting, but I enjoyed the main plot of the caves and the separation of the survivors. I don't even wanna know how Charlie felt when the withdrawal started. Well, at least he had his precious guitar.
Primary Storyline: Jin appears to attack Michael for no reason at all and gets handcuffed to a piece of the debris. Meanwhile, Jack is trying to convince the group that actually moving into the caves is a good idea and that water should be close, especially in a secure shelter. The group is divided as Jack's group and Sayid's group. Sayid argues that the rescue may still come(false hope). Finally, the situation with Jin is solved when Sun reveals she speaks English(W.O.W.) to Michael and tells him that Jin attacked him cos Michael "stole" his father's Rolex watch. In the end, Michael gives Jin his precious watch back and cuts him loose. Jack, Hurley, Jin, Sun, Charlie, Locke along with some background chaps now live in the caves(after an incident with Charlie standing on a beehive trying to get a fix of heroin). Rock star and Boldy hunter have made a trade and the heroin was switched for Charlie's guitar(that also survived the crash somehow).
Secondary Storyline: Jin is only a fisherman's son trying to become the husband of the daughter of the director of Paik Industries(I super-hate Sun's dad). In the end, Jin is forced to work for him, but Jin's "work" makes Sun desire to leave the country without him. Jin meanwhile formes a plan with his own father to escape to America while on a work mission for Paik. Finally, Sun and Jin arrive in the airport and decide to go on Flight 815. Sun, discovering Jin still loves him, decides to stay and Jin is warned by a guy who works for Paik that if he tries anything, he will lose Sun. (Fortunately, the guy was killed in the crash). The plane then crashes.
Creepiest thing in the episode: Mr. Paik.
Coolest thing in the episode: The bee attack.

The Moth: A wonderful ep where Charlie is tested in both the past and the present.
    Best character of ep: Locke/Sawyer.
Worst character of ep: Mystery attacker/Kate.
Review: Charlie is tested and fails in the past. He succeeds in the present, though. Also, I have a dislike for Kate and her "cos I'm coming with you" and "why aren't you doing this" and "No, I'M carrying one" etc. Why can't she just ask instead of "I'm doing this, I'm doing that...". Anyway, I really liked the episode(besides the secondary story)and the fact they solved the drug problems.
Primary Storyline "Caves": Charlie is suffering from withdrawal(he isn't so happy with his guitar as last ep) and he demands his drugs back from Boldy who says that Charlie can ask two more times and it's his. Back in the caves, Charlie becomes slightly delusional and believing that Jack thinks he's useless and starts yelling at him(Jack quickly deduces the situation I think) and causes the caves to collapse. Charlie makes it out and goes to ask Boldy for his drugs again(Locke gives him an invaluable moth speech) After Michael who was in construction had created a small tunnel, Charlie, feeling guilty goes through. He helps Jack to relocate his shoulder and Super-Doc reveals he knows about Charlie's withdrawal and offers help. Then, Charlie notices a moth in the cave and figures there's another way out. He digs them out another way. Not-So-Super-Today-Doc makes it back with the Recovering Addict and they happily wait for Sayid to come back. Charlie asks Locke for one final time for his drugs and throws them in a fire. Locke's proud and Charlie takes off the "addict hood" and looks up to the sky at moths.
Primary Storyline "Beach": Sayid has a plan to triangulate the French transmission and pinpoint the source. Three antennas will be stationed: one on the beach(Boone), one in the jungle(Kate) and one in the mountains(Sayid). The plan is set in motion in 5 o'clock. Sayid fires his rocket, Sawyer fires his(Kate went to help Jack) and Shannon fires hers(Boone also went to help Jack). They activate their antennas and just when Sayid picks up a signal, some Mystery Attacker knocks him out.
Secondary Storyline: Charlie has had too many sins in the Drive Shaft band and decides to quit. His brother Liam doesn't like that and promises that he'll look after Charlie. Charlie is convinced. Later, in a concert, Liam reads Charlie's lines and Charlie doesn't buy his excuse and discovers that Liam is a heroin addict. He tries to convince Liam to follow their agreement(if things get too crazy, we walk away), but Liam yells at him saying that it's HE not CHARLIE who is a rock god. Charlie sits down and crying at starts his drug addiction.
Creepiest thing in the episode: Drugs.
Coolest thing in the episode: Sayid's plan.
