In North & South Kevin Uxbridge played the father of Jonathan Frakes' character of Stanley Hazard, he then played a Douwd on an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Mitchell Ryan who played Kyle Riker the father of Commander William T.Riker played the father of Orry Main in North & South. Jean Simmons played Orry's mother in North & South as well as retired Rear Admiral Norah Satie on Star Trek: The Next Generation, she also played in the 1990 revival of Dark Shadows whereas her North & South husband (Mitchell Ryan) had played in the original 1960's version of Dark Shadows.

In the 1974 Rockford Files episode 'Claire' both Jackie Cooper & Lane Smith guest star, both would later go on to play Daily Planet editor Perry White. Joseph Kearns the actor who played George Wilson on the 'Dennis the Menace' TV series, died suddenly during the show's third season from a cerebral hemorrhage, the last show that aired before his sudden and unexpected death concerned his character's adding of Dennis to his will so that he would receive his gold pocket watch after his death.
