Stargate races would totally decimate the Colonials and Cylons. That said I don't like as the tones of the two shows are too different.

i understand where your coming from, i wasn't going to use the dark tone of the show mainly, i just think the colonials would make a good ally and the cylons would be like the replicators in way

        FF: http://www.fanfiction.net/Stargate_S...overs/68/1960/

And in particular, read this one, I hear it's fantastic: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5874106/1/Dust_of_the_Stars

Dust of the Stars is dark(ish) with the Colonials and Earth being allies. /shameless plug

as awesome as Galactica is, it simply would be completely unable to harm shields, or stargate superalloys.

it could shoot at a Ha'tak al day, hell all week and not bring down the shield one percent

            Eh, not really.

Stargate firepower is all over the map, from 200 megatons at the end of Season 1 to barely being the equivalent of a 2,000 pound bomb in later seasons such as when Anubis's first super Ha'tak was destroyed over Langara. If SG firepower was "200 megatons" the missed shot from the Ha'taks would have vaporized the entire city in one shot. They didn't. The collective bombardment did damage the city, but left a significant amount of it completely intact.

And then there's SG: Continuum where we see a planetary bombardment. Where did the 200 MT shots go to there? The explosions there were maybe a couple dozen tons of TNT. Maybe 50 tons. That's quite a lot less than the big big numbers that Stargate supposedly has but which we never see.

And going by "strict firepower calculations"... well, that lacks imagination. And it is quite frankly, cherry picking.

We've seen Al'kesh and Gliders taken down by modern missiles. Not. To. Impressive.

We also saw Destiny's canons "dialed down" to 60% at the end of season 2. Unless those firepower charts are exponential, 60% induced some big yawns. It didn't even vaporize a city street.

TL : DR version: SG firepower is all over the map. Going high end is cherry picking.

Maybe a few hundred tons of TNT? But not the big 200 MT figure. The picture is from Continuum.

i love SG much more then BSG but bryan is right, the writers in SG never stayed constant with weapons power.
