If diseases that were common during the ancient plagues of Europe and the UK, make a comeback and increase in our 21st century right in the USA, the people guilty of causing this are the ones dumping it AND the government systems claiming to be helping the American people, and end up harming and destroying the very people they claim to *want to* protect and advance into a better "society".
California... the (failed!!!) socialism experiment that people want to spread to the rest of the entire USA. Sad.
Rotting garbage/waste that is not properly disposed of creates all sorts of gaseous fumes, as well. That can't be helping the atmosphere, especially when it occurs in bigger consumptions than what the earth is capable of decomposing slowly on the natural scale of things.

(to everyone else)
Doesn't matter to me what format this topic is put into. The info within is what matters. What people do with what that info has revealed is up to the individual person to ignore or take action on making this world a better place with the least amount of disastrous problems resulting and casualties caused by either of such actions.
What is so difficult to understand with that POV? This is a tracking (earth's) future issues topic, btw, of a variety of items -- pro and con.
In the situation the NBC news article exposed about trashy LA, California... (and San Francisco has similar trash/pee/poop problems too), well, (please) read on...
Eventually, if the trashy situation in California's top cities does not get under control, diseases from those medieval times in earth's history will happen in mega scale all over again. Or is that the goal? To wipe out huge populations one way or another, so that whoever is pulling the world's strings of events, pro or con, can hide the truth of various situations away, so that only certain personas or groups can survive..? Our current world is barely squeaking by, surviving day by day without a nuclear or EMP'd (whatever worst type of) WWIII breaking out... at least, as far as the general public is aware of.
What is being observed by many people in various places around this terrestrial globe basically boils down to the following--
This isn't a game of survival of the fittest, which is *what* many deceptive folks want the rest of the world to believe. It's becoming clearer by the week and day that there is a financial war zone being forced on those who cannot afford to make their life better. The few scenes of depravity being experienced around the earth now, are just examples of how backwards some societies are existing as, and how fast generations can fall into despair both physically and emotionally.
IMO, eventually, if these various places don't clean up their "actions" soon enough, they will regress backwards instead of being the "Progressive" people they claim to be. If people *want* the world to stay in the DARK (from knowledge of these various situations, both good and bad), then fine... live like folks did in the Dark Ages, and find out the difficult route when some horrid disaster strikes (generic) your own *bubble-world*, but don't complain because you preferred to hide from "reality" in whatever *darkness* (generic) you have chosen to live within.

No I'm being sarcastic because this is a tracking the Earth future thread and you're making a huge deal out of a sanatory issue in one state in one country that somehow will condemn us all to a certain doom.
Have you looked south in the ghettos of Mexico and it's permanent fog? Have you noticed the situation in Yemen? Do you know about Venezuela impossible living conditions?
You know, real issues, stuff that matters.Spoiler:I don’t want to be human. I want to see gamma rays, I want to hear X-rays, and I want to smell dark matter. Do you see the absurdity of what I am? You know, real issues, stuff that matters.
In recent weeks, it is becoming well known that our USA is dealing with various ways that the "GREEN New DEAL" is being pushed upon us all. How TPTB achieve this is at the moment, is unknown; but it is already being drafted in 8 states. California is one of those states. But California is also pushing "socialism" programs, which is expected to turn into another Venezuela, if certain (deteriorating) conditions occur.
The DEMs in the USA are pushing for President Trump to get ousted, so the "socialism" agenda can be fully achieved. When TPTB can control the people, as shown in Venezuela and Cuba, and wherever such systems exists and the majority of the people are living in gov't controlled conditions that are NOT of quality or high standards (e.g., "the Projects" in slum city areas), those conditions often result in poor sanitation in whatever city/state it exists within. California just happened to have escalated those problems, because the money that was supposed to be spent on keeping California's urban areas pristine clean have been dwindling out.
Where did the money go.. to whom, for what or where..? New York (especially NYC) is following in California's footsteps. New York City has already declared higher taxes are in store for next year, and it is rumored that if large money sources that support the current TAX system move out of the state, then NYC is destined to lose its supporting funding within a few years, and then what? Deja vu California, but on the east coast... and then, like dominos, other states that fell for California's, and New York City's GREEN DEAL paranoia, also will soon follow... and then what... more states fall... but into *what* type of future will they end up with?
So... the sanitation problems start now with one state. Part of the environmental "clean-up" includes banning plastic bags. So, this is done in the entire state of California. Other states are adopting this ban measure, as well. Fix one problem... but create another that grows out of control. People are lacking the foresight to fix the original problem so that it doesn't become a worse situation further down the line of time.
So, again... focusing on one State for the moment. Yeah. Ever hear of the bubonic plague? It wiped out thousands of people during the middle ages. It was discovered that the fleas the rats were carrying then is what brought the plague to the people. Today, this is a potential problem that needs to be watched carefully. With mass transit and air travel, it is well known that such (deadly) diseases can spread miles across continents from just a few infected individuals (look at how Ebola jumped continents). Add to that, the world's *newly* dreaded "climate change" of increasing temps... NOW, if those diseases infect the homeless or people working in or passing thru those unsanitary areas, this will become a major problem especially during summer heat!
BTW, in our 21st century (A.D./C.E.) armadillos carry leprosy on their bodies. Leprosy seems like an disease from ancient times. Yet, people in today's world can get Leprosy from handling armadillos. Armadillos live mostly in the southern USA.
So, it's not just ONE state or one disease to be concerned with. If the big league diseases end up being as ignored as those garbage heaps in Los Angeles, California have been ignored, then they will have the potential to get out-of-control and spread to who-knows-where. It only takes one person to slip thru the cracks of clerical tracking errors, to spread to another person and another. Look at the current measles epidemic... Or Chickpox. Kids in schools who don't know they are infected, infect others sometimes before signs and symptoms actually appear. And nowadays with preschool babysitting centers, infectious diseases have been *known* to spread thru entire families and school systems like wildfire (lots of absentee working moms, because their little ones caught some horrid infection thing from some other child or person in the school).
And to toss the Bible into this, plagues of diseases are one of those items that was prophecied would kill "many" in the "last age". Famines and diseases could/would wipe out about (or up to) 1/4th of the population:
Revelation 6:7-8
7) When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, "Come!"
8) I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.
Anyone can guess "the wild beasts" probably and most likely includes the various rodent populations carrying various diseases.
So, yes, I take this news VERY seriously and on a more massive scale than just the State of California. At the moment, the crisis is local to California. But those "what if" scenarios can happen suddenly and without warning. There often is a calm before a storm. One can only hope there won't be any storms (of diseases) causing a bigger crisis than what currently exists.
Also, on another note... increasing temps in the Climate won't be this world's ONLY problem... as it will affect the crops, agriculture, clean vs. contaminated water supplies, marine life, AND thus the entire food supply, as noted by the word "FAMINE". Diseases usually follow when famines plague the regions they affect.

Your country dumped a truckload of manure on South America then went ''Wow, why are you guys so poor and stuff? what's wrong with you? why are you coming over to me for help? I don't owe you nothing?''

Natural selection. If those idiots are too dense to take a vaccine that could save their lives then let them die and we'll be better off. My only exception would be the children that should be taken out of these families so they have a chance to live because they are innocents.Spoiler:I don’t want to be human. The window to do this isn't years, it's months, and I'm an optimistic because most scientists now agree that there is no going back, only adapt.
The efforts at controlling this so called problem have to date been to levy taxes, fees and otherwise force the US to pay for this load of fertilizer while giving China and other major sources of pollution a pass for one reason or another.
And that would be the case if it was really an ecological problem, which it isn't. Granted, climate is changing and has been constantly changing, but it hasn't been proven that mankind is the cause of it. Pretty hard to do that when it has been going on since before we climbed down out of the trees.
As far as the "most scientists" line, all you gotta do is follow the money. Most of these scientists are in the employ of the government or educational industries, both of which skew hard left. What happens to a scientist whose report says " No problem here" ? Well, of course, if that's the case, there is nothing left for him to study, is there, so he has to find honest work someplace or sell his financial backers on the idea that there's something else he can study, doesn't he?
And as far as the Kindergartner and her GND, most of her BS doesn't even involve the environment, it's just a road map to socialism, or to put it more bluntly, she's trying to put her hand in taxpayer's pockets under the guise of environmental concern. Just as that guy from the UN's IPCC did about 10 years back, she outright saying that she wants to use environmental concerns to redistribute wealth. Sorry, but myself and a whole lot of other people aren't stupid enough to buy into that line of BS.

If banned, people will just start buying other plastic bags to do the same thing. No reduction in the number of bags used, just an increase in cost for the consumer.
NY is banning them next year. I've been stocking up on extras for a while now. I've got about 6 years' worth stashed, so I'm just gonna keep right on using them after the ban goes in place.

of course regular plastic bags probably wouldn't be much of an issue if there weren't so many people who are too lazy to sort their trash (At Whole Foods our trash can be sorted into regular trash, of which the goal is to incinerate 85% of it and leave only 15% going to the landfill, mixed recyclables, and compostables)

It's not? Read the news. As a result of Trump's tax reform package, affluent taxpayers in high tax hellholes like NY can't use their federal returns to partially offset their high taxes, so they face the full brunt of that tax burden. Haven't you read the news? Many affluent taxpayers in NY are leaving. The state has been griping about that for quite some time now. Of course, they can't accept the truth; that with the loss of the federal cushion, they're gonna have to cut taxes in order to be competitive with lower tax states.
I dunno what SGalisia is on about, but here's one. Many people, myself included don't consider those bags to be single use disposable. They are re-used for various things. I use 'em for cat litter disposal. Others use them for other things.
