been toying with the idea of grinding my own rice flour....I'm not gluten allergic but doing this would probably be a cheap way for me to get all-natural flour that has no preservatives and junk in it like most other cheap store-bought flours....very doable for me as I have a stand mixer with a grain mill attachment

That's the big problem, most people don't realise that they have to search for good quality meat and that in some cases the supermarkets aren't the best place to shop for things. Wholesalers are a good place to go, but sometimes specialist shops can be cheaper than the supermarkets - I buy all my Indian spices from a fantastic, small, family run 'Foods of the World' shop near me. They're cheaper and have a much better range of things than the local supermarkets.

And back on topic (I did just type 'bacon topic' there first - d'oh), I had a lovely lunch today, I lightly fried my bacon in coconut oil and then added my eggs to it and scrambled them in the bacon fat - fantastic!

    We just missed it!

    The Bacon Appletini

    2 oz. Vanilla vodka
    1 oz. Amaretto
1 oz. of Baby Bubba’s Gourmet Apple Syrup
Half a strip (or two) of Baby Bubba’s Apple Cinnamon Bacon (cooked) to garnish

(And remember, this martini is “bacon”, not stirred. Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker over ice, then pour into your favorite martini glass. The bacon slice will float beautifully on the top, adding its savory-sweet flavor.)

If you want to lose a few pounds, eat less, move more. Eat more veggies and less bread/processed carbs. Cutting out meat isn't the cure, just the kind of meat. and it's blasphemy in this thread, but that means lean pork chicken or beef, and bacon is far from lean.

I know overweight vegetarians, so cutting out of meat isn't a 'lose weight fast' gig.
