Anyone on a Re-Watch mood here?

    Hey,

So I've decided to do a re-watch of BSG (around December/Christmas) and it would be muchio fun if anyone would participate in it, see it like the Stargate Re-Watch but only with less seasons , I've got a question though, should I watch CAPRICA before BSG or as they aired? I watched them all, BSG countless times but I am undecided in which order I should watch them this time. Actually IMO it does not really have a huge impact if I watch CAPRICA before BSG or whats your opinion? anyway it would be awesome if someone would join the re-watch!

I've got a few things going right now so not just now, but I have been debating between BSG and Farscape for my next rewatch

I'm introducing a friend of mine to the Original BSG. I like both, but I like the original better. By biggest disappointment (and yes this is an old argument by now and will be repeated for years to come) about the remake is that for years they said the Cylons had a plan, but that plan was never revealed. Then as it turns out the origin of the Cylons is a young teen girl who has father issues so she hates all humans because of that.

So should I watch caprica or BSG first?

You should start with Galactica 1980.

I've watched the odd episode of original BSG, it's so so bad

Would love to participate in a BSG rewatch. I'm doing the Stargate rewatch now and wouldn't mind adding the BSG rewatch in December, if that's when it will start. I tried to do a BSG rewatch when BBC started to show it from the beginning during the summer, but there was so much going on that I stopped half way through season 1. So count me in!!!

I think the fact that the first place they go after their civilization is exterminated is a casino, says it all.

They were looking for a mine for fuel. They had no idea the casino was there. The casino was a trap anyhoo. But it was stupid to still value money after their civilization was wiped out.

What I found stupid was the council still hoping for peace after the colonies were wiped out and they still offered to disarm themselves. That was insane.

And in a way it does make some sense.

But we can go on like this forever. Despite some of the show's faults, it is a good story and it does have some good stuff to it. Top notch special effects for the time it was released is just icing on the cake. Rather than dwell on the faults I prefer to dwell on the positives.

It was the 70s. A vast majority of TV is cheesey by our standards

That's great, I'll let you soon enough know when it starts, I'm just doing myself a lost rewatch and watching deep space nine for the very first time, but I think I'll manage to end one show until december, so I can't start BSG, would you watch caprica first or would you not watch it at all?
I've never seen the old ones and not galactica 1980 are they watchable? I'm not sure always wanted to try them though

I honestly don't understand what cheesy means in this context, and I really don't think it's such a bad thing.
