    Searching of the Network

Okay, this has probably been brought up before. But I couldn't find specific mention of it.

But we know from SG-1 that any scanning of the gate network to find locations. Requires the dialling of those for the Milky Way gates anyway. (Eg. the gate updates and the dakara weapon) So how did the search reveal Destiny. If it's outside the local group, the ones with modern gates.

The Gates on their way aren't able to dial each other and are unable to send people long distances. Are we to believe that a wormhole sent a signal to a gate Billions of lightyears across empty space and it only took a second to lock?

Two words - Subspace - dropping the second.

Are you saying that it connected to the old gates, then used the subspace. Or are you saying that the wormhole turned into a subspace beacon?

Subspace doesn't really explain a lot it's a verse in the multiverse theory. It explains how one can avoid the effects of light and time. It's basically going into a parallel universe to avoid the laws of relativity of our own universe.

Yes, and the reason we do that is because the speed of light in subspace is so much faster than in normal space, which allows subspace signals to be sent in real time so much farther.

They have real-time communication stones, they probably just did the same idea for the gates. When the code is entered (probably the address minus the point of origin) it sends out a signal through subspace, finds the location and relays it to the dialing gate.

Really? I suppose they use two different subspaces, one for the gate beacons, signals etc.
Another for ship travel, because wouldn't a faster and more serve relativity mean they'd age a lot quicker? If the speed of light means things travel faster in subspace?

Subspace isnt normal space, its not encumbered by the laws of physics, thats why they can travel faster than light. time in subspace is relative to time in real space, thus no relativistic effects.

Oh how I wish my internet service was in subspace!

The problem with that is we see them moving and going about their days in Hyperspace(Subspace) so the laws of physics have to apply in part at-least.

Time appears to be the only thing that works in subspace.
