Ok, I looked around and didn't see this discussed anywhere else, so I'll start my first thread.
We're told that there is a rogue black hole entering the system (did they mean star or solor?) and is obviously close enough to be causing the planet to literally come apart at the seams. It is actually breaking up from the gravity of the black hole.
So my question is, once a black hole is close enough to tear a planet apart. What is the escape velocity required to get away from it?
And subsequently, do the Novus people with sub-light speed engine technologies, even have the ability to achieve this speed?
(I'm assuming the Destiny's FTL engines have no problems here).
