I wonder why Rush or Eli can't sent a reset loop command to the drones until it drain all it's power to prevent receiving a new command from the command ship?
since we know Subspace has thousands of "channels", the Command ship would send it's commands on a new channel, thus rendering it useless.

that's the problem with the jamming too: the command ship simply switches channels.

That makes me wonder if they could Jam it?

They already tried that. The longest Eli was able to interfere with the drone communication was a few seconds. The command ship was able to overcome the interruption that quickly. As I said, I'm doubtful that hacking approach will work going forward. Given that command ships are now stalking Destiny, it seem clear that there is some information sharing happening between them. The other command ships are now no doubt aware of and prepared for any jamming attempt.

Interesting that an advanced space faring drone army can't effectively use frequency hopping.

America is different than ancient Rome but its still human civilization. Lantians were called Lantians because they were from Atlantis. It'd be like saying New Yorkers and whatever you call people from Boston are different, we're still all the same race. It has never even been hinted at in the shows that they were two different races. I don't remember in the show if they ever said Destiny was launched at the height of their civilization.

The only thing you could say is that the Alterans and the Ancients were possibly different and even that is shakey since a huge part of who they are, the Ori, carried through from when they were still on their homeworld all the way through Destiny's launch, through Atlantis's building, going to Pegasus and returning to the milky way, ascending and us rediscovering the stargate and defeating the Ori. They're all the same.

Maybe they have yet to encounter an enemy that DID jam them to where they needed to develop it?

I see drones as guardians who are defending the galaxy against something bigger or more evil. I think its more exciting to believe that.

It is sad that we may never know the answer to that.

A friend of mine is absolutly sure that the humans from Futura built the drones, even though all evidence( Ursini said they were very old, seems way beyond Novus's tech level, etc.) seems to point away from that.

JM alluded to the possibility that the drones were in fact created by alternate Destiny's descendants.

Don Matthews writes: “Are we gonna find out that the drones are an outgrowth of Destiny’s decendants?”

Answer: Alas, we will not. Of course, that’s not say we wouldn’t have.

But how??? their level of tech in the last 40 or so years, was no where NEAR close to hitting hyperspace/ftl tech, let alone shielded/weaponed stuff. So how could they have made them?>

I don't understand why the novus tech was behind. I understand it would take time to build an infrastructure and etc. However I would assume the remaining scientists would have written down a great deal of information about hyperdrive technology.

I think we can safely surmise how truly complex hyperdrive technology is which couldn't really be inferred in the past. It seems that unless it is you expertise like Dr Perry or Col. Carter, even a very simplistic drive is very difficult to replicate.

The drones are probably this galaxy's version of the replicators. They probably turned on whoever built them.
