      I totally agree with this. TJ was a MEDIC. not a doctor, not a surgeon, never mind a specialized renal transplant surgeon.

      My other issue with this episode is simply this. Volker would not have died that day, so why didn't they simply wait a day and get REAL surgeons to do the surgery.

      They would have fixed the Gin/Amanda problem and then could have used the stones to get real surgeons on board the ship.

      I love SGU but this storyline felt very false. People don't die from renal failure on the SAME day they faint from symptoms and medics can't do transplants, even with medical databases in-front of them.
