Exaggeration, exactly like people flipped out when computers integrated the work place. There used to be thousands of bank tellers, now we got ATM's yet those people found another job didn't they? AI do not and will not replace all jobs, it will change the workplace. As for the rest, Terminator scenario and else, well that's up to your imagination but I think it's possible and not so much fantasy anymore.

If you want to be scared of something it's not AI, it is the advents of quantum computing. THIS, is the only thing that you need to worry about for the near future. If a hostile state gets his hands on a fully operational quantum computer with quality qbits, they will be able to break any encryption system in less than a few minutes. Bye bye your virtual money, and maybe bye bye power grid too.
    Spoiler:
I don’t want to be human. I want to see gamma rays, I want to hear X-rays, and I want to smell dark matter. Do you see the absurdity of what I am? I can’t even express these things properly, because I have to—I have to conceptualize complex ideas in this stupid, limiting spoken language, but I know I want to reach out with something other than these prehensile paws, and feel the solar wind of a supernova flowing over me. I’m a machine, and I can know much more.

Not true. Many of the younger folks in this country simply think that socialism means free stuff for them.

He's not gonna have to rig the election. In case you haven't noticed, the Democrats are setting themselves up to shoot themselves in an uncomfortable place just as bad or worse than they did in 2016.

They can keep on keepin' on. If you recall, I root for the other team.

AI can be taught to operate subjectively and create art that human experts cannot id as being AI made

so, if it can do these fine skilled tasks once thought only capable by the most skilled humans, it can do any objectively oriented task

yes, it is a ways of, but i think that if govt's truly want to do something useful now to ensure workplace-and therefore tax base, stability in the future, they need to write law and regs that limit what AI will be allowed to be programmed to do.

i have read that millions of people worldwide, when surveyed, would willingly give up their autonomy over things regarding choice of foods, leisure time, dating, health issues, entertainment, finances to algorithms being developed by places like google and facebook

cannot understand why anyone would want that

            Yes...

            It's called connotation.

A commonly understood cultural or emotional association that some word or phrase carries, in addition to its explicit or literal meaning, which is its denotation.

A connotation is frequently described as either positive or negative, with regard to its pleasing or displeasing emotional connection.

It's not an empty statement -- in on itself, sure... but not in the context it was used.

Context changes the words and meanings.

More precisely, why is there 4 broken candidates on the Dem's side instead of having one unified Bernie? Right now I'm thinking the odds of the Snake looked better at the previous election, and that's sad.

I happen to work with automating processes (I build them) -- they're not replacing any workers just yet, if at all. On the contrary, they create jobs.

Either I missed a bit, or I got confused... but I thought it was about whether Trump's words were racist or not -- and quoted the "go back where you came from" post... so no idea what you want with these two words...

Never heard of cu****ic as a word before. However, according to Britannica.com. It's a group of languages spoken in Africa --> Cu****ic languages

Cu****ic languages, a division of the Afro-Asiatic phylum, comprising about 40 languages that are spoken mainly in Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, and northwestern Kenya. There are six major subdivisions within the Cu****ic family: North Cu****ic, or Beja; Central Cu****ic (also known as Agau [Agaw, Agew]), with languages such as Bilin, Kemant, Kwara, Xamtage, and Awngi; South Cu****ic (spoken mainly in Tanzania), including Iraqw, Burunge, and Gorowa, the hybrid language Ma?a/Mbugu, and (in Kenya) Dahalo; Highland East Cu****ic, including Burji, Sidamo, Kambata, and Hadiyya; Lowland East Cu****ic, including Dasenech, Arbore, Saho-Afar, and Oromo and its close relatives such as Konso; and the Omo-Tana group, with languages such as Somali, Rendille, and Boni.

Edit: LOL!! Now I see what you mean with words being sensored. That's an unfortunate side effect of our language filter, I'm afraid. Falls under the same umbrella as "s******" which you'll just have to substite with "giggle" instead.

                  In Dutch it's Koesjitische Talen.

the post was related to trumps tweet; i was making the argument that it was not racist as he was referring to their nationality. "go back to the countries they came from...and fix them"

he didn't say "go back to your people and fix them"

of course his tweet was dumb since those he referred to are all americans now

but, in that post I explained that Omar would technically be considered Caucasian (Caucasian does not always mean white/european--there are native peoples of japan who are caucasian) as she is a member of a ethnicity that is aprt of the C-U-S-H-I-T-E group of peoples who are in turn Semitic

                        -----------------
i found out this does not happen at gatefans as it is up to date with new tech and uses xenforo. that is why it has an optional profanity filter you could turn on so if you are a snowflake, you wont be triggered by seeing "bad words"

lol cause you expected this hearing formality to deliver bombshells

tbh my expectations were about the same as for the report

question is will there ever be a real independent investigation (Trump first has to be ousted)
